tow behind seeder/spreader vs 3pt mount spreader

Most I’ve seen used have been well used/rusted out and still want almost new prices for them. No experience with the tow behind models as we have a 3pt for decades. Wash out after every use and light coat of used hydraulic oil/diesel. And stored inside. You cannot spread powdered lime with...

Is anyone Monitoring Their Hydrostatic Oil Temps During the Past Few yrs of Elevated Summer Temps?

That’s a good idea, most heavy equipment has this with an hydraulic fan. So on the tractors would you remove the factory mechanical fan? I’m not sure how well it would work blowing the chaff back towards the inside of the grill and reversing back normal of how much it would actually remove.

l2250 won't move (clutch is fine)

Does that model have a high low range selector? It could be in neutral.

Well if you’ve already done it on “a number of vehicles” then you shouldn’t have any problem. I would check the temperature on a hot day after using it a while with an infrared thermometer, it might not get as hot as you think.

Not a tractor but in a truck. I added a Hayden plate type with a built in fan and thermostat that kicks on I think at 180 degrees.

    PTO wood chipper

That looks doable with a bushhog. Pending nothing is “hidden” stumps, car parts etc. See my post above.

    PTO wood chipper

I’d look into a hiring someone with a skid steer with a mulcher. Just to get a price for it and they possibly could get it all done in a day or two.

Wrestling with the plastc tabs that secure PTO shaft shields

Are you talking about the shaft shields that stay attached to the implement or the shields on the actual PTO shaft? There are different styles and each one comes apart differently. Search what style you have and go from there. My landpride’s have a style that you have to remove three tabs before...

    PTO wood chipper

I will add mine is a manual feed model and I haven’t had any trouble with it pulling material into it. To me it wasn’t worth the extra maintenance and cost of a hydraulic feed model for my use. Again I found mine used and got a good deal because it didn’t come with the PTO shaft.

    PTO wood chipper

I have a Wallenstein that I bought used. With green leafy material it’s best to run it at 540 PTO or faster. Mine didn’t come with a PTO shaft, and I actually bought a woodland mills PTO shaft for it with a shear pin, so I keep a handful of extra shear pins with it. I also made skids out of...

    Tractor for towing a boat

How steep are the ramps? I have used my M6040 that weighs 9k to move my 35ft trailer that weighs in at 8800lbs around my yard and at spots I’ve unloaded to reposition the trailer empty. It moved it no problem but I would be more concerned about the brakes on the tractor. Or just loosing traction...

    3D Printer

Yes I believe it’s moisture damage, no idea in the waterproof rating of them. Finishing up a project using my box blade that my rippers leak down every so often I’m switching between the top link and rippers via the diverter and it’s gotten worse this past week.
