Russell - thanks for the reply. I've decided not to use the Gabapentin. The pup doesn't appear to be in any pain whatsoever. I'll just use the Trazodone to keep him calm. RCW- Yes, you are correct. Dakota slips out sometimes when I call him. I sure miss that one.

hmm, just picked that up today. I'm reluctant to use it. Vet said is sort of a pain blocker and would help to sedate him. The pup doesn't seem to be in any pain at all (no more swelling) and he's putting full weight on his hind foot. I also have trazodone for sedation.

cut/hauled a downed tree off the road for the neighbor yesterday. Decided to catch up on some garage/tool organization. Didn't get a chance to do anything with the Kubota today since the new pup found a nice cool place to relax.

That's great that you got it fixed. Make sure that you do not tighten the thru bolts holding the pins in place. They should be ny-lock nuts and the bolt should be able to spin freely. If you tighten them I can guarantee that you'll lose them and have pin walk out. ;)
