Man one thing after another, life is good,, HACK,,, grrrrrr ,,,, late charges for stuff I already paid, I know cause I checked the back and checks cleared, ran over the damn sundial chewed it up and I have no idea where the arrow went,, nothing flat,, yet,, Winds knocked some Beatle killed pines down, so nice day chain saw time,,, nawww this little POS Stihl MS211 has never been right from day one, shop says nothing wrong,, no start,, ok check plug, no spark, check gap on module, of course you have to take all the plastic off first, it is laying almost on the fly wheel OK one business card later set between 15 to 20 thousands should be good,, check plug gap .020 good,, put it back together and pull and pull and do I get a spark,,, nawww ,,, then maybe a spark. maybe not. OK let try it hope upon hope,,, nope not even with juice ,,, nada. I never had problems with the Husky or even the old 10 10 Mac pro. OK Im done venting, I just hate to order a spark module and not be the problem, yeah I know its like 60 bucks on line but still.

I was having problems getting consistent spark on an old Honda rototiller during daylight hours. When the area was dark, I could see better consistent spark. I probably have a gummed up carb.

Around here.... nobody wants a 211....they go with Echo, I agree with that.

The 211 was a quick need buy, good for small limbs and light stuff. But I need one that is going to pop off when I need it. Hate spending 600 + bucks on another saw

I had a Troy-Bilt 4 stroke weed eater for 10 years or so, always ran the fuel dry in the fall and checked the plug so it was ready for spring. It always started after a few pulls and ran great. A couple of years ago in the spring, I gassed it up to do some trimming and it refused to start. Rebuilt the carb, replaced the plug, replaced the ignition module, checked the valve lash and checked the compression. No matter what, it wouldn't start. It had spark, but wouldn't fire, even on ether. When pulling the rope start, it acted like the timing was advanced. Pulled it apart to check the flywheel/crankshaft key, it was fine, and it looked to be in time. After about 10 hours of futzing with it and a lot of cursing, I gave up and bought a new power head.
Sometimes I hate those little engines.

Boy, sorry to hear that. I've got the same Stihl 211 and it's been my go to saw for several years. The only difference, mine was given to me strait gassed and I had to rebuild it. Could you have a short in the kill switch wire or plug wire??

Chainsaws are the most temperamental things this side of …umm…well…I better not go there!

Sounds like you’re looking in the right place for the fix. Good luck skeets!

My Husqvarna saws have started each time, every time, by the 4th pull of the rope.

My boss is a huge stihl fan. But all I've seen is when he brings it into the shop because it won't start again. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Pretty much the same here for my 455. It’s when you use it for a while and let it cool down a bit and try and restart it is when it gets temperamental. I’ve learned to let it idle for a minute before working the throttle is the trick. If you use the choke it will flood.

Yes Sir, the muffler somehow fell off my Husky ,,, coffcoff,,, second pull and with a good sharp chain,, it was hard to keep up with, she screamed, untill she didnt !! Yeap I m thinking a coil pack I think it was 55 or 60 bucks for OEM, on felabuy, but sometimes even then you have to hope for the best, ya never know if it is one of those counterfeit parts
