Where to find the engine serial numbers AND do they tell the displacement of the engine?

I bought an April 1996 built, ONAN 4.0DKC generator powered by a KUBOTA 3-cylinder engine. The engine is quoted by ONAN to be 41.2 cubic inch which converts to approximately 675CC. To be able to order parts from KUBOTA or any aftermarket parts, I need to know what year and model of tractor this engine might have come in. Please don't delete my post as I use this forum for information on my 2010 Kubota B3200 tractor. Thanks in advance for any help on identifying my engine.
It is a neat genset and just purrs with the Kubota power. It only uses 1/2 gallon per hour at full load. It is an 1800 rpm genset.

2 ways to tell:
On the side of the engine, on the injection pump side, the CC's will be cast into the block.
Note: The CC's are close to the actual model number but not exact.
The serial number and engine model number should be stamped on the engine on a flat facing up just to the side of the injection pump.

Wolfman, I found 675CC is cast on the engine block on the injection pump side but back by cyl # 3. Just next to the inj pump, on a flat, the numbers are: D650-925522. Is that stamped number anything that corelates to Kubota tractors? Funny that the block casting clearly says 675CC yet the serial number says D650-925522

The Kubota D650-A is a 675 cc (41.2 cu-in) straight-three, water-cooled naturally aspirated diesel engine from Kubota 70 mm series. This engine was used on the Kubota B6100 tractor.

The Kubota D650-A engine has a spherical type сombustion сhamber with glow plug, Bosch K-type mini fuel injection pump, and Bosch throttle type injection nozzle. The compression ratio rating is 22.0. The cylinder bore and the piston stroke are 64.0 mm (2.52 in) and 70.0 mm (2.76 in), respectively.

The D650-A diesel engine produced 14.1 PS (10.4 KW; 14.0 HP) at 2,800 rpm of gross horsepower.

The breakdown of the engine code is as follows:

• D – 3-cylinders
• 65 – Approximate displacement 650 cc

Yep Maple nailed it!
And like I said the CC's do not always cross over to the exact model number.
Also most parts from the D650, D750, D850, D950 will work on it.
Really the only parts that don't cross are the actual head and block and pistons.
So parts for a B7100, B7200, B8200, b1750, B1550 will all work too.
