Probably because I was a commercial cook 37 years ago, I’m really hard on gas grills at home.

Melted countless cheapies that lasted 3 years after replacing burners once or twice.

I don’t use charcoal or have a smoker.

My favorite was a Vermont Castings grill I got 12 years out of. It was huge but the facia that held the burner valves corroded away and it became unsafe.

The grill grates were cast, and 39” (1m) wide. Had a great wide rack above the grates an 6 infinitely-adjustable gas valves.

Paid a lot more for it, but I was still $$ ahead from 4 replacements.

This is far from my favorite, but has held up really well.

Weber Summit Stainless Steel 4-burner blah, blah, blah. Too small (for me) and valves are not infinitely adjustable (has a “low” setting you can’t go lower).

That said, Guessing it’s had 1,500 pounds of propane through it. Original burners, although looks like they need some adjusting.

I’m still not a fan of it but can say it’s been through a lot of screaming hot battles and keeps coming back for more.

I don't know Haddock, but it looks mighty good. (y)

I searched and found that it is in the Cod family, but even then, I know very little about saltwater fish.

Magic - - many years ago we sold "scrod" in the restaurant business.

Generic term for a north Atlantic whitefish that we could get fresh or frozen for a good price.

I think cod, haddock and pollock were common. Very white, lean, and mild flavor.

Easily broiled, fried, or part of a seafood fra diavolo, which is with spicy tomato sauce over pasta.

We get these IQF (individually quick frozen) for home in a 10# box when we get to the restaurant supply.

We used to vacation at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. My first exposure to the Atlantic Ocean.

Water is very cold over there, but that's another story.....

I would take my son on a party boat fishing trip each year.

I don't think we were ever skunked; we caught mackerel, bluefish, flounder, sand sharks, but never any haddock or cod.......

Depending on the time of year, sometimes the boats caught a LOT of haddock and cod, which is what I wanted - we just missed the most action.

The crawfish look so good. I'd get a couple trips in.... (y)

Like our sweet corn season up here. Pretty short so you make the most of it.

Crawfish are an annual treat for us that we can only afford to enjoy a couple of times each season. The big feast is a business blowout where we all try to hurt ourselves.

I came in for lunch and the wife had:

Sauteed fresh squash & onions, new potatoes, and pork chop/gravy. There was no cornbread, but I said nothing. It's best to realize when you are ahead....and I was. ;)

Part of .what makes for a long marriage like they’ve had… 👍
