After painting my floor plates of my L3901 HST I was hooking up the clutch spring and noticed this lever of some sort coming out of the transmission. It has a hole in the end like it is ready for a cotter pin

Does it go through to a connection on the other side?

Move it and see what changes?

Went back out to look at it again. couldn't move it by hand so I took a guess and moved the HST pedal and it moved when I presses the foot lever. So I am going t guess that it is for cruse control that I do not have.

I think you are correct. MY L3700SU and dad's L3800HST have cruise. If you are interested in cruise control there is a kit on ebay under L3800. Do not know the seller but thought I would tell you.

Sammy3700, Thank you for the ebay mention. I did find it and highly considering it. If I added it then it would provide justification for my L3901 HST having separate right and left breaks. I also have a 54 Farmall Super C (not working right now) that has a lever speed control and separate break pedals and I used them all the time when mowing. It also has a narrow front end and I could turn it on a dime leaving change.
Thanks for the help.

Glad to help. With the cruise kit it will allow the use of turning brakes and if you mash both pedals together the hst will return to neutral. Hope I explained this correct.
