What is involved in installing a rear hydraulic to L2501f that came w/o hydraulics?

This is probably complicated and expensive but I have thoughts of sometime in future needing rear hydraulics on my newer L2501f which came w/o loader. I have access to a tractor with FEL and only needed to mow about 10 somewhat wooded acres and FEL is awkward in this situation. Being that it came w/o hydrolics how involved would it be to add it just for rear use (as in log splitter or top and tilt)? I won't be adding a FEL to this tractor but would like some options in the back.

Any suggestions other than "you should have...." ?

Tks...

Yes, it's not bad... main thing is that your tractor bypasses the "outlet block"... It's just a "cover plate" (first diagram #020)... just a channel to pass the hydraulic fluid from the High Pressure out side (Blue line) to the high pressure return side (called "Power Beyond", Yellow line) which feeds hydraulic power to the 3 point hitch. The Red line points to the Low pressure "Return to Tank" line...

Second diagram; shows the new outlet block #060 where you can tap hose to connect your new spool/valve to...

You might check with a salesman at a Kubota dealer to see if there is a "Kit" for connecting up hydraulics. Kit should supply these parts (I don't know if they do have a kit, I just know that it's usually expensive buying each part; screws, "O" rings although you should be able to reuse the same screws.... You need to the outside parts but you could source them Surplus Center / Summit Hydraulics.

That is just the tractor side... you will need a new valve/spool with the number of control levers you want to use (cheaper to buy all spools you think you'll need now) I used one for grapple, one for top link and one for the side link. I had the Side link blocked off with a plug for over a year before I found a side hydraulic link...

Your new spool must be "Open Center with Power Beyond" which is a regular open center valve that can have a small plug inserted in the valve to transform it from just Open Center to Open Center with Power Beyond! NOT all Open Center valves can be converted like this - it must state that fact (otherwise it's just Open Center). Clear as Mud?

If you think you can tackle this but want more information, we can walk you through it (as well as all the other information out on the web...)

You need the OEM adapter plate for the hydraulic block (60 in the diagram) and the three orings (70). The rest is all standard hydraulic fittings and hose.

You also need a comtrol valve with power beyond port for your rear outlets. Connect valve to adapter plate per description in owners manual.

Thanks guys. It looks doable (famous last words). Looks like the port is under the seat which means short hoses. Don't know if I'll need to buy a different lever cover for the control lever. I might stop by my local dealer and see what they offer and recommend vs what I really need. My tractor only has one open slot for another control lever at the moment.

Who is a good seller for these parts... someone that would understand what I'm doing since I only have hydraulics for the PTO at the moment and only want to add one or two remotes to the rear. I'm thinking of only one for the... wait a minute. My mind went blank. Uh, hydraulic top link. Would probably need two if I chose a log splitter also or could the one be used for various implements?

Lots of questions for something that looks doable, huh?

Tks again...

The hydraulic outlet is under the front right floor board. I thought you were planning on a DIY system.

Your dealer will offer you a complete OEM remote kit including lever guide. First valve kit about $1000. Second and third valve an adfitional $800 each.

You dont need or want a valve for a 3pt log splitter. Treat it like a backhoe hookup.

This will most likely be a diy job. Mentioned Kubota dealer just to see how they would go about it.

Question... what is the difference in the port under the seat vs the port under the right floor board? Can either be used for what I'm attempting? Reason I was thinking the port under the seat was this video... "
". He did use the port under the floor board for the low pressure return... don't know if there is somewhere else this return port could be tapped into being as I don't have anything at the floor board port since I don't have FEL hook-ups.

Clarification on this would be appreciated. About the only thing I really know about hydraulics is the dozens of videos I have watched and posts on this forum.

Tks...

The port under the seat is just a tank return. The OEM valve stack adapter plate uses it. The pressure return is via the blick under the floorboard.

You can DIY dual remotes using a generic aftermarket valve for 1/4 the cost of OEM. Not as pretty as OEM but just as effective.

Here's some food for thought:
