I'm afraid to post this because I'll get hated for but I pulled out this stump. It was easy to pull out, tractor didn't even struggle. The roots were rotted off. If I had chains (haven't had time to go to harbor freight yet to get a set) probably could have lifted it right out of the ground.

Anyways....

I know it's not proper use of a sling strap okay. It was the only way I could get it moved. Wasn't going to far just didn't want to drag it on the lawn where it came from. It felt stable, I couldn't move it and I made it safe to it's destination where it's going to rot the rest of the way.

Yes I know, I need to get chains. It's not like harbor freight is down the road from me...it's an hour trip.

I got it done and I felt safe.

Anyways, after I was done and about to park the tractor back in the garage. Some guy pulled into my driveway because he saw me with the tractor and started talking and he has a tractor too and attachments and told me if I needed any of them just drive the tractor to his house and hook them up!

This stuff is so new to me, I didn't know the tractor community is such a big thing. It was cool to meet another tractor owner that I never met before who's local. I'm not a super social person but it made me feel good 😊
Wait, what’s wrong with using a sling to suspend a stump? Do I just not even know how unsafe I am?

It's time to get the flail on the MX for the summer so I decided to take care of the hardest part of the Summit Hydraulics multiplier installation to avoid dealing with annoying stuff in the way.

Not my best work but I got a mounting bracket made up that uses existing holes in the frame of the tractor. I never really liked the cheap factory trailer socket connector bracket which had too much flex in it for my liking. The bracket on the M6060 is way more stout. Anyway, I decided to box in the top and right side of the factory bracket and tie it into the support for the multiplier block. Once again I welded the Summit Hydraulics supplied mounting plate to the cross member. Everything is solid as a rock so no concerns re the heavy multiplier bouncing around. Now I can get the flail on without any need to remove it for the next six months or so.

N.Y,
Spreading the dandelion seeds for the neighbors to enjoy 😁. Front of the zero turn was yellow with pollen when done. I was covered in seed pods. Neeed a deflector up front. End of dandelion season is almost here.

Getting it right is more important than getting it done, and my first attempt at a bracket for the MX (see above) just wasn't right? This little project has been a bit more challenging than the M6060, actually quite a bit more challenging. I cut the bracket down near the Summit Hydraulics plate and added a gusset made from an off-cut I had laying in the scrap pile, and made a cantilevered bracket which looks a lot tidier and like less of a bodge.

I've never used the 7-pin trailer connector on either of the MX6000s and that's after 4-1/2 years of combined ownership, so I think I'm going to go in a different direction. I cut the combination bracket down (cut off the part that holds the trailer connector) so now it only supports the windshield washer fluid reservoir. At some point I'll look into adding the M6060 trailer connector mounting bracket to the MX which is a whole last nicer and not some afterthought. I actually use the 7-pin trailer connector on the M6060 when pulling the folding rotary cutter around.

Yesterday in my haste and stupidity, I managed to crush the windshield washer fluid reservoir! I had removed it from the mounting bracket so that I could figure out how I was going to make the support. It occurred to me that I'd better raise the 3-point lift arms all the way up when deciding on a location for the multiplier to avoid interference issues. I reached in the cab, started the engine and raised the 3-point which was accompanied by a sound of something breaking. Yep, a $250 mistake for sure. I suppose it's better to break a 3-1/2 year old part than a new part.

Now I can get the flail on the MX and take a break from upgrading stuff. Get back to doing real work with the tractors.

Tilled the new plot we ploughed last autumn, need to till it second time and grab any lupine roots possible before planting sunflower and oat.

Yikes! There has to be a DIY solution for a miniscule fraction of that cost. I mean it just holds washer fluid and has a hose attached to it.

That is the EXACT analogy the boss used. Being quite pissed at this point, He went ahead and raised the tractor a few feet off the ground and said, "Lets see if the MF'er will collapse like a coke can."

Shes raises and lowers fine but that entire column has obviously been compromised now. And the metal on the column is flimsy enough we know we could probably straight it with some wood blocks and the forklift, but there is a pretty decent ripple at the base of the column now.

And I'm not sure what the FIL's MX5100 is weighing in at but we've been known to exceed the lift capacity often in that bay.
I think if i was going to buy a lift today I would look at those four individual wheel lift units controlled by a common remote.

Finished the garden project.
The B6000 performed great!
A little slow but it got the job done no problem.

Moved on to dirt work. There was a row of trees here that I transplanted. Used the loader to dump topsoil and the scraper to level it off.
