Boy do I hate this driveway with every fiber of my being! We're not too far away from a complete reroute though. Slowly getting there. Gave her a couple passes to level everything out before the next storm

Which was only a hour or so away right as I started hauling more dirt up to driveway #2.

Parked her in a terrible spot and went inside to start cooking for the day. Now shes trapped at the top of the driveway where its super soft.

Had two days of no rain finally, thought I'd try mowing. Took one pass in 4WD and gave up. We have springs that come off a large hill and soak this side of the property. It's going to take at least a week of good weather to dry out. Maybe I'll wait and cut it for silage.

Unless you are some high-end precision user, the step drills at Harbor Freight are affordable and work well. They are well worth the investment to have floating around your bit collection ready for that time you can really use it.
I keep a couple/few of them around just for those instances.

Sometimes on sale dirt cheap.

Worth it, and I know just where to find them in the "Bit" drawer of my toolbox... ;)

Ok while not Kubota related, it is tractor related. I mowed a client's lawn today and had to mow it twice because it was cutting terrible.

I wonder why...the blades were dull 🤣

I sharpened them and then mowed my lawn today and boy what a difference sharp blades make!!! Before it was like trying to cut butter the handle of a knife.

Ran into a wet spot...thought I got it stuck but luckily zero turns are kinda two wheel drive and managed to get it out.

After an entire week of rain, I guess this is to be expected. Glad it wasn't the L2501, probably would have swallowed the tractor whole.

The weather forecast said I had about 90 minutes to get some trails mowed. About 30 minutes in, there was a deluge. I put my phone in the plastic toolbox to keep it dry.

Hosed the mud and grass off before putting tractor back in barn.

It is now improper to use the expression "dirt cheap". These days it just isn't so! :)

Took delivery of a grapple and rake from Homestead. Pallets were a bit light duty and the grapple pallet was broken up. Couldn't use the forks to unload but luckily, truck had a lift gate. Driver was great and we dragged pallets to lift. Was able to get them to ground. Had to use slings to lift off of pallets. Reset them on more robust pallets I had around. Fortunately implements appear to be undamaged. I gave company feedback and sent a few pics.

Removed broken rear light from cab that falling branch had broken off over winter. Will head to dealer for parts tomorow.

Finished up by installing flat top connectors to mini ex auxillary for tiltable ditching bucket.

Took all day. I'm sore and a bit sunburned but couldnt be happier to finally have some tractor time in great weather.

A couple of years ago I changed the spacing of the rear wheels on the M6060 with the help of the MX6000 and a friend who owned an L4060 cabbed tractor. A neighbor stopped by later in the afternoon to help out when he saw us struggling, and at one point or another they both jumped into the MX a few times. One of them scratched up the paint on the steel door sill for want of a better description. To this day I don't know who was responsible or whether it was done with keys, a pocket knife, screwdriver, wedding ring or whatever, and frankly I don't care. I grumbled about it in a post in this thread two years ago when I showed off the M6060 wheels and tires at the new setting.

Last week while I was working on the M6060 bracket for the Summit Hydraulics upgrade, I decided that it was time to fix the annoying scratches since I was in painting mode. A little sanding, some masking tape and Kubota grey paint and I'm no longer reminded that others don't always take as much care to keep things in good condition. It's a small thing but it makes a difference to me, and order has been restored to my tractor universe! And yes, I painted over the plastic fastener in my haste, but no doubt the paint will fall off in 10 years. 😂

Thats what my lawn looks like in early spring in the NW. I had to start mowing in Feb this year since our temps are mild and the grass grows fast. Throw in there the fact we get a lot of rain and I have to pull my Z421 out of ruts like that at least half a dozen times every year.

What size grapple did you end up going with?

Going to be pulling the trigger soon and have been leaning towards Homestead.

I'm afraid to post this because I'll get hated for but I pulled out this stump. It was easy to pull out, tractor didn't even struggle. The roots were rotted off. If I had chains (haven't had time to go to harbor freight yet to get a set) probably could have lifted it right out of the ground.

Anyways....

PXL_20250513_230813897.jpg

I know it's not proper use of a sling strap okay. It was the only way I could get it moved. Wasn't going to far just didn't want to drag it on the lawn where it came from. It felt stable, I couldn't move it and I made it safe to it's destination where it's going to rot the rest of the way.

Yes I know, I need to get chains. It's not like harbor freight is down the road from me...it's an hour trip.

I got it done and I felt safe.

Anyways, after I was done and about to park the tractor back in the garage. Some guy pulled into my driveway because he saw me with the tractor and started talking and he has a tractor too and attachments and told me if I needed any of them just drive the tractor to his house and hook them up!

This stuff is so new to me, I didn't know the tractor community is such a big thing. It was cool to meet another tractor owner that I never met before who's local. I'm not a super social person but it made me feel good 😊

Hey there BB. Got the 72 inch grapple. Have not had a chance to try it out yet. I now have 4 implements from Homestead and am very happy with the quality. Solid welds and finish. Great customer service as well. Chris had been very helpful in providing advice. They are a bit on the higher end of price range but I think the value is worth it. Good luck with your decision.

Don’t worry. I do questionable stuff all the time. Make it as safe as possible and still get done is the best you can do.
