I FINALLY got dad to operate the Kubota. He grew up on open station Massey Ferguson. His two primary tractors are open station Massey Fergusons.

He was afraid he would tear something up or too many buttons/switches. After giving him a lesson on how the tractor operates, he was off and going

After taking several loads back and forth, he has now decided that he would like to add a cab tractor to his Christmas list. I told him I hope my sister has a money tree growing in the backyard, otherwise he is just stuck with using mine.

Don't you mean you get to use his MFs. You lost your ride!

I usually spray at first light when its still (no drift), so no threat of summer pop-up thunder showers yet.

Whatcha spraying? GrazonNext? CimmaronMax?

Started the day by helping my neighbor move her deer blind with tractor and loader. Then continued on with my pond dig. I am getting close to being able to shoot elevations and think about how I am going to construct a spillway. I plan on having clay trucked in and lining with at least 6 inches. Any suggestions on a spillway or clay liner feel free to suggest! The soil I am working with is loamy sand. The diameter is about 30 to 35 feet with a depth in the center approximately 5 foot at this point.

Think I would look into how to construct a "spill way" out of a piece of pipe. The open or natural type of spillway often requires a lot of maintenance. This article talks about the two different types. Just to get you to thinking. We tried the natural spillway for years and it required constant upkeep. Later we placed a piece of pipe with an up right as talked about in the article and it worked much better for us. Still needed to touch it up once in a while but much less time and effort to keep the water flowing.

Gave my son the job of brake pad replacement on the rear brakes of our tow vehicle ('16 Tundra).

Rascal ended up having to leave to go to work, so I got to finish up the drivers side!

If you did something to or on you're tractor today and you don't want to start a new thread then post it here :D

I installed a horn I took from a tiny Toyota and then installed a decompression cable on mine today. Was going to do a little grading on the drive but got tired :(

Spent the morning trying to solve a no charge issue on my B1700 with no luck. Frustrated.

I hear you on early day spraying. Was my plan to spray much earlier. Nope was not spray hay but lawn. Not near the money had it been my hay fields but for our yard of two acres shot about $150 of fusilade. The I did get the tank washed out for the real application, as soon as get more chemicals. It is suppose to kill bermuda, torpedo grass and crab grass in zoysia. Yes I have all three in part of our lawn. Seems when we had dirt hauled in 20 years ago leveling the it some the torpedo was in it. Also due to all the rain we have had the last few years another weed grass don't know what it is. It popped up about this time last year and it grows rather fast and has like a yellow green color to it in small clumps.

Got my strobe brackets today from Paul and Kathy Short. I needed a bracket that wouldn’t raise my height and Kathy sent me all the links to their products including what I needed. Then she found me a link to strobes that would ship in U.S. I can’t say enough about their help. Paul answered all my questions. This is the way business used to be conducted! I miss the 1960’s and ‘70’s.

Thanks Kathy and Paul for taking the time with me.

Changing the hydraulic fluid in my new to me b7100.. last change was 6-19-08 at 1490 hours! It has 2157 hours on it now.. oil looks half decent tho.. no big chunks just some little flakes..

Napa 1361 filter and kubota utd fluid is going in. Should be good for another 12 years! J.k

Of course I made a mess.. but was expecting that

Also changed the engine oil and filter and the very very very bad fuel filter.. changed the fuel lines as well.. worst fuel filter I've ever seen.. about fell apart when I removed it

On Monday I took delivery of my first tractor, B2601 with FEL, grapple, box blade and rotary mower. Got to play for a few minutes before the rains came. Haven't been able to get back on it since. Just reading up on the manuals and browsing this site. Lots planned for this weekend tho ;)
