I have a b2601 tractor that I want to put a curtis cab and universal curtis ac unit on it. The cab is made for the tractor, but the ac need 60 amps. I have the little dynamo 14 amp unit. Ive read on here a member that goes by "T" put a gm cs121 on his tractor to run electric heat. I had a heart attack and mowing grass is about I have to do and in NC the summer heat is terrible.

found this, might help ?

also consider getting a higher capacity battery !!!

and use proper wires ( +12 and ground) to the heater unit !!!

Today I put my new alternator on my b2601 . Using some spacers from lots of yrs of motorcycle customizations , welding / extending the tension adjuster and getting a longer belt it lined up pretty well. I used a one wire 100 amp alternator. I ordered my rooftop ac unit and I will wire it up next week and let it run for about an hour to see how it does. If that test is successful I will order my Curtis Cab and put it all together.

Seems like and inverter with a inverter type window air unit would be more efficient. I was watching a video on the Medea 12000 BTU inverter last night. It was pulling less than 12 amps AC.

I have toyed with the idea of using a window air unit powered by a small generator on my John Deere 4310. I actually have both but haven't got around to implementing it and designing a cab yet.

Have you considered trading for a B2650 with a cab or LX2610/20 with a cab?

One thing to keep in mind if you haven't is more weight up high will affect your center of gravity.

The L4240 replaced my L3200 due partly to the desire for A/C. Although my heated DIY cab was quite nice there was no practical way to add A/C.

I also wanted a wider RFM. That meant adding 5 HP each for A/C and another 18" of mower.

This tractor was bought a couple years ago to run an aerovator on a huge property my company maintained and after my heart attack I had to slow down. So it only has 60 hrs on it and trade in value on a larger tractor was laughable. Also , I have a m7060 w/cab and a 84" finish mower for most of my farm but its too big around the house which is about 2 acres. its paid for and I like projects anyway. it has 5 suitcase weights on the front now and loaded rear tires with 2" spacers. So, I'm not worried about top weight and my farm is mostly flat land. My wife passed 2 years ago , so I have money to play with. I let my son have control of my plumbing company so he humors me with my crazy ideas. If the roof top ac won't run for a hour of so, I will return the unit and scrap the whole idea. Right now I'm only in for $150.

What kind of roof top AC did you get for $150? Let us know what it is and how it works. I eventually want to add a cab and AC to my JD. Like you it does what I need and is paid for.

I've said many times here how much I like my Curtis Cab and heater.
I'd love to have AC also. My cab and heater was $6800. Then i did the install.
The dealer wanted $1000. To install it. Is it as good as a factory cab ? I'm sure a factory anything is better. But the Curtis is pretty darn good. I just looked at their website for air conditioning. Didn't see any exact for the L3800. A generic one that's $2800. But I'm sure lots of other hook up involved like Little General is doing. A customer of mine has a koti with full cab heat&AC. he loves it. Uses it in all weather. Summer here i pull the cab doors off and hang them in the shed and let the air flow.

Bought my LX3310 cab last year primarily for mowing. Last fall I took the mower off and put the loader back on. I find it pretty handy for all sorts of stuff. Wife has informed me SHE is doing the mowing this year meaning she will drive around in circles in the AC while I use the other mowing equipment in the heat trying to make things look right.

I am going to try this ac/heat unit on my b2601 ( https://outequippro.com/products/to...and-1-outdoor-unit-12v?variant=48461704593716 ) . I talked with an engineer at Curtis Cab and he said if I could make a 90 amp alternator fit ( https://www.speedwaymotors.com/GM-D...gmRuLP5dDkKMpSL5E6hgm6liM8-o6fmhoCCXwQAvD_BwE ) it should work. My local lawn mower dealer is selling me the Curtis Cab including delivery for $5700. Im going to install the cab myself.

That looks like fantastic unit Little General.
I think you got it figured out.
Thanks for posting the links also.
This just might be something I'd tackle.

Where is the battery located on this tractor? Any plans for an upgrade on it? Seems like a 90 amp alternator with a constant 40 amp load is going to cause some outgassing and heat.

Another possible issue, will there be enough airflow to keep alternator cool ?
Perhaps install a dedicated battery and a 'battery isolator' ( double diode) so if anything goes bad with the A/C power, tractor WILL run fine.....

the battery is in the front of the radiator, the first couple run will require lots of stop and looks
At bare minimum you will want a battery with a vent tube so you can vent any outgassing under the machine. You don't want charging gasses passing through the radiator.

All of my batteries are also in front of the radiator. On my NH and JD I installed batteries with a vent nipple and put a piece of tygon tube on them to vent them under the tractor. I need to check my Kubota to see what it has.
