So while rummaging around my garage I came across an old auto trans cooler I had replaced in one of my cars with a larger one. I am wondering if A, it might have some benefit to my G2160 HST and B, if so where would it be plumbed?

Can't give a real answer to your question. but you might be dealing with pressures much higher than the cooler is designed to handle.

Perhaps. I also have a mechanical oil pressure gauge I would like to install. I know I would need to keep the switch in place as it is what turns on the electronic power steering. So I would have to do a T fitting of some sort. Not sure of thread size on the engine block though

In hot ambient temperatures, it would not hurt. I suspect it is a LOW PRESSURE unit so must be installed in a return-line to the reservoir. (DO NOT REDUCE LINE DIAMETER...lest you may create a high-pressure zone)

You might consider plumbing in a 'bypass' for cold-weather use. Overcooling HST fluid is NOT GOOD for your tractor.

Yep, not a bad idea though I only use the machine in warm weather. Although this past year I was using it until 2 weeks in front of Christmas. Mostly mulching leaves and such. I don't think there is a return line as small as the lines in and out of the cooler I have. So might be a pipe dream.
