Humm I've heard the opposite.
I've heard that their Implements are very well built.

My options are limited, the local TSC only has their CountyLine brand in stock, it would be a week or more before they could even get the Tarter blade. And it's heavier than anything else I've found.

Can't wait a week, or two, to buy a quality blade that should last your lifetime?

I have actually LOOKED at Tarter Gate implements.
IMHO they are mostly junk, when compared to some others.

Yes, the heavy duty BB2560 would cost 50% more and take weeks to arrive.
Yes, but the heavy duty blade will last. You might also check with an equipment rental company. I bought a nice Landpride used blade at one of those places one time.

Have you checked out Catawba? Most items in stock with free shipping to a local terminal. I have been thinking about their 66 inch one.

Same "free shipping" from Everything Attachments, and their products are superb!

I bought a 5' box blade from the local auto, farm store that was no name, a bit crude, likely China made, but more than adequate for the work I needed to use it for.. A sloppy brush repaint job when needed that was never seen from the highway and it worked well for a long time..

It did double duty as rear ballast with 4-6 suitcase weights added and was the cheapest option available at that time and place for both uses..

My 5 cents of experience..

With a little steel and welding reinforcement can greatly improve a cheap implement.

I haven’t yet reached that blessed state of retirement where time is irrelevant. And since I live deep in the wilderness (we had the last horseback mail delivery in the US) shipments usually take far longer than than expected.

But in this case things fell into place much better than could be expected. I received an Infinity box blade yesterday.

I've looked for used but all I've found were either beat up or almost the price of new.
Have you asked at an equipment rental company? Box blades are pretty simple chunks of steel and if they look OK they probably are.
