Found a used snowblower a BX5450. Will this fit a BX 2680? It came off a B2320. I called a dear and asked them, they said it wouldn’t fit directly, and that it wouldn’t even fit the B2320, then preceded to tell me that a new one would be $4300 for the BX. 🤷🏻‍♂️. The tractors look very similar. Anyone have any knowledge of this? If it doesn’t directly fit would it be hard to fabricate different brackets to make it work with my BX? Thanks

The BX5450 was a B and BX compatible blower.

However the blower isn't the challenge...the front hitch and mid-PTO to hook it to the tractor and make it run are the the critical parts. If it came off a B2320, the front hitch and mid-PTO are not compatible with a BX if they're part of the deal. It would be a challenge to make them in my opinion.

Actually it’s only the snowblower. No mounts or anything else is included. Would the front hitch that goes with my bx 2680 work with with this snow blower? Since I have to buy it anyways?

What does your front hitch look like?

This is my BX2360 with a BX2750D blower....kind of a “duck bill” engagement.

I think the BX5450 is similar, but I can’t swear to that without looking at a parts diagram.

I know some of the new BX’s have a 4-point type deal.

Just as an example, my front hitch is a BX2751. Yours will be a different model #, and maybe a different style.

Better yet, what is the model # of your front hitch?

Here is the parts diagram of a BX5450 blower. It obviously has the same style female quick hitch as mine.

Your BX2680 is a couple generations newer than mine, so just not sure how your front hitch works.

If you have a front hitch, betting it's the K-connect design.

I "built" a BX2680 with blower....hitch is a BX2810 w/4-point connector. Totally different set-up than the older BX's have.

Could the back end of the older blower be adapted?? Maybe, but there's a lot of moving parts in a short distance there...

I don’t have the front hitch yet. Still need to buy one.
My apologies - - I missed the "have to buy it..." part.

Given the difference in "generations", it looks like the challenge is altering the back of the blower, or front of the hitch....(in such a way it'll work)

In the ideal world, it would be as simple as taking the back/hitch part of the older blower off and swap it with a back/hitch part of a K-Connect blower....but I'm seriously doubting that's an option.

Kubota snowblowers are made by other manufacturers. I doubt the important parts here will be interchangeble, but it could be worth looking at.

I would look up the parts diagram for the newer BX2816 50" blower, and see if it has a similar hitch part like the 020 part in the BX5450 diagram...hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained.....

I asked messicks one one of their you tube videos, and he said it’s possible. And that they have done it. Said something about changing out a hydraulic coupler.

replying to this 3 month old thread in order to help others who might find my reply in the future.

I own a BX2380 and a recently acquired BX2751 quick hitch and BX5450 blower. It WILL fit an 80 series tractor with a couple of changes. A) the pioneer couplers have to be swapped for flat face couplers. The set of four couplers cost me 67.00 shipped from Summit Hydraulics. B) you have to take the brush guard off.

I test fit the QH on my BX yesterday and aside from the MMM pushing the pto shaft back, everything lined up correctly.

I am very excited at the prospect of having such a large blower, as I am coming over from the Gravely world, and the largest blower I ever had was a 44". TheBX5450 makes the old one I had look small.

I will post another follow-up when the fittings come in and it is attached to my 2380

can I get some feedback on if this fit or not? I see a bx5450 local for a decent price much lower than the $5500 for a new front snowblower from kubota. Looking to see if this will actually work or not.

If you have an older snowblower, then you can just switch parts. Those parts are too expensive to buy if you don't already have them.
