RTV500 with 358 hours. Never really abused. It has seen some heavy pulling of old cars around the lot.
This one gets many short runs with out being brought to operating temps.
Never had a problem.
Driving across parking lot it will start smoking really bad, bog down then die. Its not antifreeze. It just doesnt have that smell. Slight smell of oil burning. More of a white smoke though than blue. And a lot of it until it dies. Let it sit for a few and fires back up and runs fine again. Engine sounds normal. Just like our other Kubota. This has happened 3 times in the last few weeks.

I havent seen any one with the same problem on the internet yet.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Thanks

This is a gasser .... not diesel......

Have you checked to see if crankcase is over full?

Air filter nice and clean?

I dont know where diesel came in at. I never mentioned diesel. Maybe youre seeing a mistake that im not seeing. I was told engine oil fill was normal. Checked it myself. Looks to be almost an inch to high on the dipstick with a lot of fuel in the oil.

Most of these are diesels ...... but the 500 series in not - JUST making sure, since you did not specify -

An overfull crankcase will smoke like hell!!!! Remove some oil and see if it clears up.

Did you check the air filter?

changing oil now. Too much fuel in the oil. Bothersome . Air filter clean.
fuel in oil?

does the carb have a float? Tank above carb? Do you cut the fuel off between uses?

those short runs could also allow moisture to build up in the crankcase...... enough moisture would raise oil level over time.
