I am hearing a noise like a metallic squeak when going forward and back in the right rear wheel around the axle
I raised the rear up and heard it making more of a clink when it made a revolution- same place every time
Any thoughts on what this may be? The lugs were loose and we tightened them - they were not floppy but still loose - we thought the noise was the loose lugs but now they've been tightened and it still does it

I would pull all the lugnuts and look for cracks around the holes.
I would also remove the wheel and make sure there is nothing between the rim and the axle.
Then if your noise continues your looking at an internal issue.

Are they 1 piece rims or 2 piece rims? If 2 piece, make sure that the bolts holding the 2 pieces together are tight too along with the lug nuts.

Had intermittent clunk that sounded like a dreaded bad axle problem. Checked several times before finding a few rear wheel disk to rim bolts loose. Wheel had to be in the right position to notice. Two bolts tightened, one needed to be replaced. All those were factory tightened on twenty plus year old tractor.

I have a backhoe on it so I was able to lift the rear wheels and rotate them freely
The sound is definitely coming from the axle and it happens once per turn at the same place
It sounds a lot worse with the weight of the tractor on it
