Can anyone shed any light on how hard it would be to repair the rear diff lock? When you jack up a rear tire and spin by hand, you can feel the teeth/dogs slip by. Is there any easy fix? I would imagine the axle housing has to be pulled off the center section. Is it engineered with a "fusible link" part to fail instead of destroying everything?

You will have to remove both final drives and remove the differential carrier to repair the diff lock.

Sounds quite involved, I was hoping for just the right side and not setting up the ring and pinion. Anyway the dealer says the part is discontinued.

One more question, when I attempt to engage the diff lock while turning one tire, I can feel the teeth going by, almost like the travel is insufficient to engage it (or there is no teeth left). Best case scenario and the lock collar is in good condition, is it possible the "cam lock"/"wedge" is defective? The parts dia show a part with the function to turn rotary motion of the pedal into forward back motion of the lock collar. I can only wonder if something went wrong with it. Since it is really cheap in price ($35) and still available. I have never had one of these apart to know how Kubota designed it.

Picture of diff lock collar, It might have sheared off the pins?
