i know it's ultimately my fault for not checking, but i bought it from a recently retired service manager at the local Kubota dealer.

in any event the block is cracked now in a B7100HST 4x4.

does anyone have a lead on a block or complete engine for a B7100? i'd love to get the bigger D950 engine with a bigger hyd pump if possible.

thx

I have a D750 that has a good block, It's actually a complete or almost complete motor, minus pump, and starter, and a few other odds and ends, It just needed rebuilt because of bad rings.

I changed to a D950 but the hydraulic pump is off of the D750, I do belive the D950 and D750 took the same pump it was just the D850 that used a larger pump.

Give JB Weld a try, its rated for 3000psi. I read a post on here about someone using JB Weld on a engine block that was used for a race car, ran it every weekend with no sings of a problem for years. If I remember the race car is going on 20 some years with JB Weld on the block.

Depending on how bad the crack is you could try some K-W block sealer or Sodium silicate‎ aka liquid glass. It's possible there are some sight unseen internal cracks.

There are also professional welders who can weld cast iron. If the break is accessible, that is another way to go. Good luck. Tell us how you make out.

I agree with Eric. Sand the cracked area very well and apply JB Weld and let it sit overnight.

i put 2 jars of KW block seal in the block and it is holding water but it has a lot of blow by so i found a used D750 block that is in good shape.

does anyone know of a bigger hydro pump that i can install when i redo the motor?

The best way to fix a cracked block is to heliarc it with stainless rod, it will last longer than you will. I do it all the time. The only permanent way to go.

If you're anywhere near the D/FW area, there's a D950 for sale on Craigslist

went to go buy this and it was basically a core. i have never seen an engine smoke this bad in my entire life. it was so bad i couldn't breathe and my eyes are still burning. the injection pump was stuck on wide open no matter where the throttle arm was. it was spraying oil out of the exh manifold. we were outside with a breeze mind you. he wouldn't budge on the price.

Will I need to set the hyd pressure? If so where can I get the right gauges to set it properly? What's the procedure?

Thx

No the pressure is set by the relive valve and it should already be right.
