This has been an amazing tractor for over 15 years.

Today while getting ready to spray I seen a large leak from behind the alternator. Remove the alternator and found a small (maybe 3/16) hole. There was an aluminum "rivet" laying right next to the hole.

There are no threads and it appears to be to thin to thread.

Any thoughts on a repair.

TIA

That is (probably ) a plug used to clean out oil passages after casting the block. The thermal cycling has made it come loose. I would think it would look like what people call “freeze plugs” but you said it is a “rivet”. Can you post a picture of the hole in the block and the plug so that we can be sure what it is.

You can see this thread for the problem I am describing. I believe that you can get a new part from Kubota and install it.

Somewhere on this forum this document was posted, but I only photographed the top half.

Like @Russell King said, it's an oil galley plug, it's from when they bore the oil galleys out.
Just drive the plug you have back into the block and it will be good for another 40 years of service. 😁
Other options are:
Get a new plug and use that.
Tap the hole and get a threaded plug for it.
