Its funny how things are reported on. I was watching the local NBC station in Portland Maine. It said a man walking in Portland had his head slashed from behind by a homeless man suffering from anxiety.
Anxiety. Not attempted murder.

You’re making assumptions too. Who knows what the true story is at this point?

Maybe the homeless guy just wanted the other guys ponytail and accidentally cut the back of his head. Anxiety? Maybe the homeless guy was feeling threatened by the guy‘s ponytail!

I agree that sometimes the headlines we see don’t reflect true reality! My response probably doesn’t reflect reality either!:ROFLMAO:

After 25 years with Search and Rescue, I can't count the number of times I'd get home from a mission, see the news about the same search, and think, "What are they (the newscasters) smoking? That's not even CLOSE to what happened!"

30+ years of investigating a wide variety of stuff where accuracy was paramount, I quickly learned news is about getting it fast, getting it right be damned.

Well, here is a couple examples of why I couldn't be an editor. I would absolutely roast the people that came up with these headlines 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

I agree with you guys, 37 years doing a lot of mining investigations on accidents and death. And when it was all said and done, my reports were nothing like the ones published, sometimes I wondered if it was the same incident and someone just put my name on the wrong report . What I did find out, as every report we submitted was re written and they always seems to be re written to fit an agenda

I stopped watching/listening to the "drive-by media" long ago when this happened.

A cop was fatally wounded by another cop using a shotgun to deal with a perp at a hospital in York PA. WGAL interviewed an tactical gear expert (apparently new title for shirt salesman) on the subject of the the officer's body armor. He stated that two pellets made it through uncovered spots. In the interview he told the reporter that " Most commonly, a double-barreled shotgun would be utilized in a patrol shotgun". Did he gather that information from watching old movies with stage coaches?

Just saw Josh Hawley questioning insurance executive over changing adjuster's reports to reduce payments. https://x.com/HawleyMO/status/1922406326367387798

Insurance companies life, home, auto, health, are legalized theft. And I know that SF jerked me around big time, because the agent did not want to be bothered doing his job, along with the so called adjuster not getting the proper information on the crash, then holding up payment, why I have no idea. It would seem your relation ship with your agent has a lot to do with how your claims are handled,, just MHO of course
