Hello everyone,

I bought my '84 B8200D yesterday. (Sorry we had a snow storm so no pictures) It's in great shape, but there are a couple of problems. I replaced the battery because the former owner froze the old one. 1 down. Now I am having trouble finding a serial number to help in getting into the ROPS program.

I have no problem finding the part number on every piece on this rig, but I have had two different people from the same dealership give me two different positions for where to find a plate or imprint of the serial number. I have already heard it's probably a gray market tractor because I gave them the part number off of the identification plate on the side of the transmission housing.

I can't find a plate or number in either of the locations under the hood that I was told to look.

I also need to fix the orange lights on the fenders as they don't work.

I'm going to get the parts and owner's manuals ASAP, but can anyone give me an idea where to start?

Thank you,
Al

And welcome to the forum! :)

I just looked at mine again and the serial is in the box immediately below the model # on the plate. It's hard to see as it's not black but just stamped in.

If it's a model B8200, it aint grey market.

You may not have the serial number on a plate on the LH side of the tractor like most will. My 8200 has the number stamped in the RH side of the tranny housing. You can't see the actual numbers in the picture, but if you look really closely you will likely find them on your tractor about where I drew in the arrow. You have to really look at them to get the right numbers/letters. Sometimes it is helpful to use a light at an angle to get the correct number.

Theekillerbee it was right where you had the arrow pointed. It's funny that two so-called specialists weren't even close.

Thank you.

Now to get a wiring diagram and figure out the lights, and I hope I can figure out what's up with Diesel types.

I'll try to get pictures of my tractor for everyone when I have a break in what is now freezing rain.
