I completed the 50 hr service 2 weeks ago on my B2601. I had a helper cover the fill hole about 75% with the shop vac hose and it worked great with very little oil loss. I only loss the oil that was in the original filter. I have the same rigid shop vac model I saw in this youtube video.

I changed my filter on a steep incline. No fluid loss, BX25D, filter on the front bottom side of the HST
All the BX series tractors have a pressure-fed HST filter, so no more than a shot glass of oil and what's in the filter can be lost.

I just did my 50 hr service. I used a big shop vac pressed tightly into the hole, but didn't pinch off the breather tube. I tapped a cap style oil filter removing tool on the end of the lower hydraulic filter and spun it off in about a second with a drill and an extention. Next time I won't spin it off as fast as it flung a certain amount of oils all over the place. A rag over the filter would have helped. I lost maybe 4oz of oil. The next time I have to do this I'll adjust my procedure according to the video in this thread. But this might be the last time you change just the filter.

And I got some oil in the hose, so less suction next time.
