Hi
New guy here. I've been searching this and other forums. We recently bought a new to us house. Actually bought it last Sept. 1 acre lot with walk out basement. So a little slope/ hill on each side. I was looking at john deere but now leaning towards Kubota. I'm not sure on which model. I have to keep in mind that my 12 X 16 shed is where it will live. It does have a garage door with opener. Opening is about 70 in wide and 80 in tall. So probably nothing bigger than a 54 in deck. I like the looks of the bx but haven't been to look or measure one yet. I work a lot so kinda hard to visit a dealer.
Any thoughts or input are welcome.
Thanks

You want/need a FEL too? IF not the BX1870 would be sufficient, need a bit more power, step up to Bx2370 - Does not sound like you need a BH? SO the 25D would be a waste. That 80" will allow you to drive under without lowering the ROPS too.:)

Not planning on a FEL. How tall is the ROPS on a 1870 or 1860. There is a dealer about an hour away from me that has a new left over 2013 1860 for $9995. Is there much difference between a 1860 and 1870?

The "new" price on the 2013 1860 was NOT that high, so as far as a deal, I think he is still high for a 3 year old tractor - NEW!

Now I am not trying to spend your money- but I would realllllly consider the FEL - I swear to you - you will find more uses that you can think of !!! Shoot - I use mine sometimes just to move 8 bags of birdseed around the house to I dont have to carry them around and down to the basement door!:D:) I will cost a couple of K more - but it will be a hellva lot cheaper to get it NOW rather than go back and get it a year from now - it can easily come off and be stored in you shed too.

Do you plan on the 0% finance? or????? as far as difference between those two - I would expect very little - look at the seat first of all - arm rests on the 70 and none on the 60? Digital on the 70 - analog on the 60????

ROPS will both be fine I think (70 series for sure)

Not sure I want to spend that much for new but used ones seem to bring a premium. Do they make a loader for 1870 or will I need to look at 2370. $$
Thanks for the feedback.

We have a BX and JD1025R, both are good machines.

As mentioned, I simply wouldn't buy a BX without FEL, the older you get the more you'll love it. They are really easy to remove/attach. At one time carrying a 50 pound bag of feed/fertilizer/mulch was a breeze, now we have to use the FEL or recruit a grand kid.

I have a 2013 BX 1860 and it came with the 54" mid mount Mower (MMM) and the LA203 Front End Loader (FEL) for 11,300.00 brand new out the door taxes and delivery. If your dealer has the left over BX1860 for $9,995.00 out the door WITH FEL and MMM and tax and delivery included, then it is a good price. The only difference between the BX1860 and the BX1870 as I understand it is that the BX1870 has the brake pedal on the left side and the BX1860 has the brake pedal on the right side.

Go with an FEL, you will never regret it.

What's shipping going to cost you?

Might do what Armylifter suggested. Could maybe find something closer to home at a good price.

The 2013 has the 54 in MMM but does not have the FEL. So not sounding like a very good deal. Oh yea the $9,995 was not including tax. What about the older BX1800 and 2200? Any thoughts?

Great machines if you can find one with reasonable hours. We bought ours new in 2003 and still use it regularly, it will never wear out in my lifetime.

The BXs are my wife's since she retired and I once raised the possibility of trading the 2200 in on something else as have we have a 2660 as well, I won't do that again.
