Has anyone installed a mid pto kit on there L5740HSTC? The dealer said the cab may need to be removed for installation. Looking for advise on if this is a project I can handle or if it will be more in depth that a dealer will have to do.

The tractor needs to be separated to install the Mid PTO so the cab should be removed.

I realize this is an old thread, but in case anyone else comes across it, L5740 grand cab models come with the gear already install in the case, adding the mid PTO is as simple as removing the case cover under the machine and installing the mid PTO. I just installed a mid PTO on my Grand L5740 HSTC Cab and it was very easy (you do have to drain all of the hydro fluid, so be prepared with 10 gal of UDT.

From my understanding the non cab models do not have the gear factor installed and the process is much more involved.

Thanks Horspower for posting this, I recently bought a L5740 cab model with the mid pto option. It is leaking fluid where the pto housing mates to the chassis so I'm happy to hear I can easily remove it and reseal it.
