I am having trouble getting my L3800 to fully start and turn over. It will turn and smoke and sound/feel like the motor is running but will cut off when the key is turned back to start.

Steps Taken:
-Charged Batter
-Cleaned Fuel Filter
-Bled Air Lines

These steps did seem to help but its not "enough" yet to get it to fully turn over.

Does anyone have any advice on what my next steps should be?

In general, How old is the battery?
Take battery out and have free load test performed.
Conductors to battery, plus and minus, both battery end and tractor ends. Clean all four. Clean battery terminals. Check conductors for corrosion - may also be corroded inside of cables due to age of machine.

Are you holding preheat for 20 seconds prior to starting?

I will try all this afternoon. The battery is pretty old so might be worth it for me to just replace it.

Thanks for your reply. Very much appreciated

"Pretty old" is likely your problem!

Turn, turn over and cranking is all the same thing. While doing that it will fire or not. If it appears to only fire while the key is in the start position you might have an electrical issue.

My b7800 did something like that, seemed to be running till i let go of key. Key ignition switch was bad. When you let go of the key instead of going to run it was going completely off. Just a thought.

Advise which trans you have as wiring is different.
Do you mean the engine stops when you release the key from the start position?
