ok, here goes, I have just rebuilt the complete motor on this. I now have 400+ psi compression. My question is, prior to the rebuild, this engine was difficult to start when hot. It's still doing that. It appears that if you leave it to cool off for an hour or so - it will fire right back up. Any ideas why it does this??

I'm with Lsmurphy on either the starter or bad battery/cables.

The only other thought would be if the pilot bushing is too tight and it is grabbing the input shaft to the transmission just enough to not let it spin freely when hot.

I'd be changing battery cables first unless they are new. I'd also change the battery if it's at all questionable.

It Cranks over fine . It's almost like the fuel injection pump looses the ability to build pressure once the motor is turned off when it's hot.
ANY IDEAS ?

How many hours TOTAL on the machine BEFORE the rebuild? As asked, Does it turn over at good speed when hot? I am kinda leaning toward fuel issue.
