Been trying to get my dam deck on for the last 3 hours. Went through this the last 2 seasons putting it on. About ready to blow it up and claim insurance but doubt it would be covered. What worthless genius designed this crap. Taking a break to have a beer to cool down before I do lose it and blow it up. (Rant over).

What exactly is giving you trouble getting the deck on? It is not really that difficult to get on if put on correctly. I am not trying to be a smart ass. I am just offering help if you can say exactly what the difficult part is.

Amazing what 1 beer can do. Went back out (after the beer) , lined it up again, done in 30 minutes. It would not line up for the arms to drop in place. Always a smidge off on either side. Correct one side, the other side goes off. Back and forth. Should have spent the money on the drove over mower.

Sorry to hear of your frustrating experience. I have to wonder if those lift arms are slightly bent or misaligned somehow. There were some things I didn't like about the mower on my BX - the PTO shaft comes to mind - but the lift arms and front brackets were never a problem over many years and hundreds of mount and remove cycles.

Arms are not bent. 1st thing I checked. It has to be perf aligned for those arms to drop in place. Can’t even be 1 mm off. It’s a super tight fit. But when aligned on the nuts, drops right in. Cant bend for crapola having my lowest 6 discs fused years back. Plus, total knee replacement about 5 months ago. Cannot kneel on that knee at all. So getting on/off the floor is a bitch. But it’s done. Have a few beers in me so feeling better. Thanks folks for listening to my rant.

N.Y,
My BX front arm can be a bear if you try to put it in straight from the front. One side must clip on first and then rock it for the other side. The darn PTO can be the beast to get on. Sometimes that takes 2 beers 🍺🍺.

This year I hooked up the drive shaft 1st, which hooked up quick. Just have to make sure it clips closed. Then begins aligning so the arms drop into place. That’s where I have issues. Mine has to be perfect or the arms won’t drop into place. Next year I’ll start with a beer, then install. Probably work better.

I never remove my mower except for service every 50 hrs. Any grapple, forks or loader work is with the mower on. It makes me feel safer since the extra low weight makes the tractor more stable.

I remove mine for winter plowing. I tried my 1st year leaving it on. Was a PITA. Plus, I bought larger tires for winter plowing. Would love to leave the R4’s on but from what I have read, the R4’s rub on the mower deck. I get about a 2 inch lift with the R4’s. May try it anyways to see for myself.
