Even though we don't normally use round bales, it served me well in unrolling a spool of 360 feet of 1/0, 1/0-2 wire to use for a subpanel in my new Pole Barn where the LQ 3-Horse Trailer and my Kubota will reside. I buried it in the same trench 18" from my 1" Poly water line that will serve the water hydrant as well as automatic waterers for the horses in the back pasture. I'll also be running 12-2 UF from the subpanel to wire up the heaters for the automatic waterers. Some outlets and a 30 amp socket for the trailer will complete the job.

If I had it do do over again, I would have added a shielded communication cable, and installed a wifi router in the barn. Then a few wireless cameras would contribute to security and also monitor horse activity.
