I recently acquired a Kubota L2350DT. I began changing fluids to give myself a baseline. First fluid is water. When I emptied it I found hyd. fluid in the water. I couldn't find a heat exchanger so wondered if there was another place that the hydraulic fluid and water could pass together?
Your help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. I forgot to say it isn't engine oil which is black. The oil is fairly clear with slightly brown tint.

There is absolutely no path or way that hydraulic fluid could be introduced into the cooling system.
I really hope you do not have "water" in the cooling system.
Hydraulic fluid mixes with water and you would not know it was in there, so I think you're finding something else in there.

Could diesel fuel get into the coolant? That would be clear, and not mix with water. I don’t know if it would be called brownish unless it was red dye that looks brown???

No path for fuel to get to cooling system either.
Unless someone dumped it in the radiator.

Could be that someone either serviced it (or repaired it) and used a contaminated container to refill the cooling system, and your seeing the left over remnants of it.

Just a thought.

Yes that could be. Any time we aquire something from someone we don't know how they actually treated it. I hadn't thought of a contaminated container. Guess I'll refill it with antifreeze and watch it.
