I have the LA1154 loader on my new M7060HD but foresee using the tractor a lot without the loader attached.

I do not have a need for a bucket, as my son has one to use around here with his M6 and track loader.

On order is the SGC1572 grapple, and I would like an experienced opinion / advice on whether the grapple is a practical alternative to a bucket for removing the loader from the 7060.

Thanks very much

Welcome and congratulations on a great tractor!

I have an M6060 with the LA1154 loader, and the loader has been off the tractor 95% of the time over the past three years. I just put it back on a couple of weeks ago but will be taking it off for a discing job this weekend. I run front weights when the loader is off and will be putting them back on in a couple of days. I ordered a piece of 5/8" thick plate that I'll weld to the front brush guard so that I can have the front weight bracket on the tractor along with the brush guard.

If I understand your question correctly, you're asking if you can use the grapple when it's on the ground to manipulate the loader arms to align to the tractor. If that's your question then the answer is absolutely yes. I left the loader off the M6060 for months with it supported by the grapple and stand. It was/is no trouble to remove or install.

Here's my LA1154 with EA grapple hanging out with some elk.
