Ya but what does “rebuilt” really mean?
I honestly don't know how they could be rebuilt, as pencil injectors were always know to not be rebuildable because they are crimped on assembly.

So I talked to the seller about the refurbished injectors . They were cleaned tested, and new seals installed, so I ordered a set. I also pulled my injectors and ordered new seals from an injection shop. I may still get them tested/cleaned if I can find a shop nearby. Just for backups. I pulled all the valves, and all exhaust seats were pitted from carbon, but nowhere near as bad as #1. So 3 more exhaust valves on order plus 8mm mandrels for my seat grinder. Glued some 320 wet-or-dry to my granite surface plate and ran the head over it. Cleaned up nice. Seems like the further I go, the deeper down the rabbit hole I get!

lol , there are a lot of “race spec” features in these engines:
Forged crank
Forged rods
Radiused fillets
Cross drilled journals
Skirted block
Shaft-mounted rockers
Lash caps

they are definitely built tough!

So replacement rod bolts are completely different designs. The new ones on left fit the old rods, but are they going to work out ok?

New replacement rod looks the same but is way heavier (19 grams) on big end and way lighter (10 grams) on small end. I can fix the big end and I think she’ll be ok with the small end since it won’t be turning 7 grand.

Also, after waiting 3 weeks, the Chi-Com Yannal brand rod bearings don’t fit (OD is way too small and too narrow) Box says v-1702:mad:. Are they maybe for an IDI engine? Re-Ordered from a US vendor and put in for a return. We’ll see if these work. 1 step forward, 2 steps back!
