That wraps this one up so based on what you have said I'll offer my thoughts on buying used tractors, esp tractors that don't run. When you see tractors for sale by someone with one or more similar, run away. The "jockey" has checked it out and found it will cost more than it's worth. Ads often say "don't know anything about it,took it on trade" or "was running when parked" or "needs battery and starter".
Ask yourself if you are experienced enough to out wit a guy that has bought and sold tractors for 10 years. While you wait for one you like, pay attention to ads for others and notice the pattern I speak of.
I have walked away from many deals that didn't feel right or a seller saying its my neighbour machine if its to good to be true walk away there's always another opportunity. Im also retired so plenty of time to look just takes that one good opportunity to come up and yes Im willing to do my research ahead if time and insure that I know what to look for before buying it and if it doesn't appear as the add stated I simply walk away.

I got an update from a customer also looking at this tractor and it went for $3500. Somebody liked it a whole lot
Its probably the same tractor yes it went for $3,500.00 plus auction fee 5% plus pst/ pst 13% comes out to roughly $4,152.00 and when you look at shipping costs for me around $1,000.00 comparable to me picking it up. I would need to rent a trailer to bring it back overall cost was too too high for me to justify especially with the amount of damage and being 25 years old. Hope the new owner has good luck fixing it and hopefully will keep us up to date on the project and overall cost of repairing it to operating condition. 👍

Is there some reason you haven't let us know about that makes you optimistic this will happen?

I actually did make a post along with the selling price and why I didn't buy it I don't understand where it is and why it isn't showing up on the page since it was posted on Feb 14 the day after the auction. My apologies I was trying to keep others informed since many individuals were offering me good advice which I appreciated as well.

I actually did make a post along with the selling price and why I didn't buy it I don't understand why it didn't show up on the FB page here I also said when I get a tractor I would be more than happy posting the progress along the way. The members in this group have been very helpful in their suggestions and ideas on fixing up project tractors and I definitely can learn a lot from others knowledge and experience since this is a new learning curve working on medium /larger tractors.
