The S tail of the storms moving thru our area have just been N of Corpus Christi. (Knowing your situation, I look). That tail had to be close enough to see or smell the rain. It sucks that “Mother Nature” will not even it out. I didn’t need or want over 6” of rain in 1 night. I would gladly send some your way.
If you sell your cows, who gonna mow the grass?
He's only selling them if there is NO grass! ;)

I'm an hour N,NW of CC. Anything that's been on radar is really heavy cloud cover with maybe a mist or very light showers in spotted areas.

No measurable rainfall since April 10th here.

What I meant was my pastures couldn’t support very many cows last couple years because of low rain fall. (Nothing like S Texas is experiencing) I still had to mow around my fences, buildings & down the 1/4 mile lane. It seems like that grass (brome/fescue mix) always grows.

I can always bring in herd from a friend or neighbor. I would do a high intensity, low frequency grazing method. Bring in 3 to 4 times more livestock the land normally supports and remove them after 3 to 4 weeks etc, twice a year, ideal periods after quail nesting/hatching and before/after to benefit other wildlife.

Neighbor’s Versatile 875 has sat idle a couple years. Looks like he’s putting it back in service. Used to do a lot of corn.

Bought it 10 years ago. Probably 40 years old, and looks and sounds great running. Probably a lot of horsepower for the money when he got it.

The big farmers are not real happy with JD, they hate the idea they can't work on thier own machines. This past year, the older equipment is fetching higher dollars at the auctions because they lack computers/software/smogbs.

Jeepers - - relatively few miles north they're getting dumped on and would happily send some to you....

Several years ago, a farmer I know 20 miles north got something like 22 inches in a month, while my farmer neighbor just 2 miles south of me was begging for rain....

These guys pick a lot of corn. All older equipment. They're good mechanics. Devised an automated wood-fired dryer for the shell corn. Really neat system they have.

He's had a Case 4490 and an older Oliver. Big stuff, but older and they can fix them. Don't need a computer to do so. (y)

The weather you have there is difficult for me to place myself in those conditions. Lately mornings begin at about mid 50's and it warms up to around 70 or a little higher. Often too windy to spray with a broadcast sprayer unless early AM or just before sunset. Moisture is plenty this year.

I have spring fed water at a couple of places. Here is a field that I put a 4" drain in about 100' from the end to make it so I could cross with my tractor.

I had these old 16.5 tires on wheels chained to a bracket and attached to the T post. I was trying to determine why the chains gave up. The weight helps keep the post in the ground! Something to fix.

Very hazy! Air quality has been bad here the last couple days. Mexico and Central America have burning up ag fields and jungle/rainforests. It's obvious our border is too porous.

Heat index is currently 106* out, ugh.
