I was LMAO...
Season 5 of Yellowstone also references the cold here, when the cattle from Montana have to be shipped down for grazing during the winter.

The Laundry Fairy and I were in East Texas this past wknd. Left my boys in charge. Not sure what happened, but gotta take JP the bull in to the vet this week. Looks like he developed a cyst in his neck. The neighbors ranchhand and I, have never loaded him or had him in a chute. When we picked him up 2 years ago, he was field ready, that was a trailer to trailer transfer. I will probably load him up with a few girls, he has been pretty docile with me so far, but all bets are off when they get into the sorting pen. The boys are off to college again later this week, I will definitely need their help. I'm hoping all goes well.

Forecast shows 2 to 8in white chit in Central to N TX later this week. Y'all need to keep that crap up North or I'm gonna have to share those 120*+ heat index days in the summer with Y'all.

Rain/sleet chances increase here on Wednesday/Thursday, really hoping its just rain and the ground temperature stays warm enough for contnued germination of the rye grass/trical 813 on the 4 acres.

I'm currently at the vet, JP and and few girls are loaded up, waiting the Dr. to finish his lunch and then gonna unload and send them down the chute.

Did JP load up okay?

Hopefully he and the girls behave at the vet's.

Extending sincere hopes JP has a simple malady and quick cure/recovery.

Hoping a simple inflamed lymph node or injury (horn?) and some antibiotic will do the trick.

He actually loaded himself up, the first go around, the girls is what gave me trouble. JP will be at the vet for the next 10 days, every 3 days he has to have 15' of gauze pulled out, cleand area and replace gauze and antibiotic shots etc. Just a cyst(softball size), pretty common in cattle in these parts, from eating stemming type plants with thorns. Cut open and drain the abscess, treated the pocket and stuffed with treated gauze.

Oh, all 3 girls are pregnant!! The 2 cows that I got with JP got new ear jewelry and updated on shots.

RC, 8 months, sex unknown, JP is the daddy. Doc, "oh yeah she's pregnant, her calf just bit my hand" his joke.

ET, 3 to 4 months, sex unknown,
JP is the daddy.

Moca, 2.5 months, bull calf, JP is the daddy.

Aw shucks, doesn’t sound simple but the DVM has a plan.

Wishing JP a quick recovery.
