Isn't $1.45 in the packer range? Congrats!Damn, I got $500 more than expected, I hope some farmer/rancher didn't buy a really good lookin bull to breed their herd.
Great question, I buy under auction prices cause I work with a few folks who have larger cow/calf herds. What is a replacement bull going to cost?
Just worked out a drug deal. What is a replacement bull going to cost?
Nice!!!!!!Just worked out a drug deal.
I buying JP, he is a registered polled hereford, 3.5 years old. $2K. They paid $3,200 back in 2022 for him.
All of her cows are bred, she plans on selling off the entire herd this year anyways. And most likely selling her place. She can't keep up with everything, she wanting downsize in house and land.
No wonder I can't eat steak! Actually, compared to what we got for 'em 50 years ago, that's probably not bad. Didn't eat much steak then, either. Mom stretched the meatloaf, too.Wow, those 300lb calf prices.

Most of the red meat that eat all year long is low fat venison. I rarely buy beef, quality beef at the store is expensive, lol. But to be fair this year, I have been given a good amount of beef from a cow my neighbor had butcher. No wonder I can't eat steak! Actually, compared to what we got for 'em 50 years ago, that's probably not bad. Didn't eat much steak then, either. Mom stretched the meatloaf, too.
We have a gap gate between us. Yes, that's the thought, have bucket will travel. I might pick up a couple of the neighbors all black cows too, they are already bred. How far is it from where JP resides to your place? You going to have to trailer him or can you lead him with a bucket of cubes rattling around?
So, how'd the bull relocation go?Been feeding the neighbors herd all week. Her son is coming out to visit and help me move JP the bull over to my place tomorrow...
He was last seen chasing JP down interstate 181!So, how'd the bull relocation go?
It actually went pretty well. The biggest hurdle was once we got him out on my road(cow lane, acces to my 4 pastures) he didn't want to move because.there is nice green grass on the sides of the road. JP, aka Brown Sugar is pretty docile, as most hereford bulls typically have that trait. I didn't get to record any of the process cause there was 3 of us. The Laundry Fairy was in charge of opening and closing the access gates and shaking a bucket of cubes. The neighbors son and I seperated out JP and 2 other cows from the heard. Once the 2 new girls settle down and the pecking order gets sorted out(alpha cow) I'll let them out on the cow lane. So, how'd the bull relocation go?
