My Dad has a M5700 which has a bent rod from either starts....Ya I know.

There seems not to be any used F2803 engines available, so I was wondering if there is a swap option?

He has a cab model with gear/ shuttle shift 4x4 if that matters.

Thanks in advance.

Well first off, this is not the first time he bent a rod...

Second he seems bound and determined to run it til it blows a rod out of the side of the block this time...

I'm just looking for an option that can bolt up to the transmission fairly easily, the other problems can be dealt with.

Those are pretty easy to work on. Pull the pan, head, replace rod(s), reassemble. Whole lot easier than trying to swap an engine into it that didn't come on it. The F2803 wasn't used on much else but it is a great engine. Smooth running and lots of torque.

If he's really determined to do an engine swap, swap a V8 to it. Maybe a caddy 500?
