Hi guys. I have a B7100 with the standard horizontal exhaust. The exhaust fumes can really be a bit much if you spend any amount of seat time on it. Does changing the exhaust to a vertical position help at all?
If so, do you have any recommendations of which exhaust to change to?
Thanks!

I have 3 tractors.
8N and Kubota L48 TLB have horizontal exhaust (under).
Ford 1920 FEL has vertical exhaust.....it blows in my face, and STINKS!

I saw a post on the other tractor forum one time about a guy who bought some flexible exhaust pipe and routed it under the tractor to exhaust from the rear.

Post #4 shows what I did. Vast improvement over stock exhaust.

You really don't need much of anything else to change it to vertical, just unbolt it and turn it 90 degrees.
I added a sort strait pipe and a flapper to one of mine.

The horizontal muffler on my Ford 1210 rotted out. I used a glass pack vertical with a flapper on top. It's about 6' above the ground and stinky exhaust is no longer a problem.

FWIW I find that the exhaust at 1600 rpm seens less objectionable than 1300-1400; might be worth experimenting.

You might want to check and make sure the exhaust isn't leaking anywhere first, before you move on to the position of the muffler. A small exhaust leak can definitely make people sick even on smaller tractors like this. As far as vertical, a muffler that small might be just as bad in the vertical position as it is horizontal, maybe even worse as it looks like it would be directly in line with your face. I always hated vertical exhausts btw, they're usually the worse in terms of fumes and noise, sure you can add more pipe to it to extend it too, but clearance becomes an issue. All sorts of things around your property might not look that low at first, until you try driving under it and bang your exhaust off of it.

Almost immediately after buying my B1750 in 1993 (1994?), I turned the exhaust from vertical to horizontal so as to not damage it when driving under trees, etc. I cut the once vertical pipe shorter and installed it such that it discharges to the left. No issues.

Over the years, I've owned dozens of tractors, all used for mowing with various sizes/types of mowers. Nearly all such tractors were specified with horizontal exhaust or converted shortly after purchase. Only the NH T4050 Deluxe (a once-in-a-lifetime deal) was not, because a horizontal exhaust package was not offered for it. The cabbed T4050 was sold after a couple of years because it proved unsuitable for mowing in many of the areas where I had hoped to use it due to both cab and vertical exhaust.
