Engine oil interval

It is recommended to change engine oil in the Kubota every 200 hours.
I average about 75 hours per year.
It would take about 2-3 years to reach that 200 hour mark.
Any issues waiting that long?

My tractor does very little idle time.
Normal use is at 540 pto speed or above.

Manual doesn't state this, but the maintenance schedule for a lot of other engines state to change oil by hours or every year or two years, whichever comes first.
In areas with cold temperatures (like Minnesota!), condensation and other contaminants will build up in engines and settle in crankcase. Changing oil will flush this out.
I normally do more than 200 hours in two years, but if I didn't, I would change it every two years.

Even in warm climates (where I live), if there is high humidity, the same thing will occur. Generally, I'll use my tractor long enough that the oil in the crankcase heats up well and any water 'vapor' has chance to escape from the vent.

Even so, I change the oil and filter religously at 100 hrs operating time.

Not hard to do on my tractor and not expensive.

Mines every 400hrs. At that rate, My first tractor would've still been on its first change LOL.

Im comfortable with once a year on oil and filter. A filter and a little rotella is cheap enough and takes less than 10 minutes out of my day.

Mine only runs about 50 hours a season so it gets oil/filter every spring (whether it needs it or not)

Oil and filters are relatively inexpensive. Effort to change is minimal. Maintenance vs. repair. JMHO, at least every other year or hours. Which ever comes first.

That said. I got lazy with the NH. First decade ownership was a bit OCD when it came to maintenance. Second decade just stuck to every other year or hours "rule". 3rd decade got lazy with low hours of use. Every 3rd year came around sooner than the hours.

New BX. OCM (obsessive compulsive maintenance) syndrome has kicked in. By the 3rd decade of ownership I will probably be worm meat or dust in the wind.

Oil, every year, filter, every 100~150 hours (Two or three years).
First change is very important. Even if well less than the manual 50 hours, oil and filter.

Too many changes is 100X better than not enough.

Dont look in the orange cook book. Every single major oil brand tells you not to go more than a year. That's all the info ya need.

I put 50-80 hours a year on my tractor. I do an oil and filter change every year with a fuel filter change at the same time

I normally do once a year. Had a couple mild winters/lack of dirt work and I only put 30 hours on the tractor in a year.

Let it ride for a while, but not 2 years’ worth.
