I have a chance to buy a mini excavator that does not have dual auxiliary hydraulics. I would like to add two Kubota diverter valves part number RD158-92902 to create a second circuit.I priced them at the local dealer and they want $590.00 each plus tax and shipping. These valve seem to be proprietary and only available from Kubota. I can't find any other valves that would do the same thing in the same space as these.Does anybody know a cheaper place online to buy Kubota parts?

I have a kx 71 and would like to use a tilt bucket and thumb simultaneously.
Did you find what you are looking for and are happy with it?
thanks

Is this still the latest way for a kubota KX or TLB model to get a diverter valve on boom? Can't find any info...

If someone knew what the mount hole spacing, it would help determine if it works on L47.

Also does it come with 2? 1 per side...

Price is now $800...hopefully that isn't just 1 tiny manual valve...

What are you wanting to accomplish, install a hookup for a grapple? thumb on the backhoe?

I have a hydraulic thumb on the backhoe (L47) and would like to get a tilt ditching bucket. When installing the bucket, I'd like to be able to keep the thumb connected (no quick disconnects on it), but also use the tilt bucket cylinder.

Picture and part number is basically a manual divert valve allowing this. Just not sure if it works on L47 mount holes...

Gotcha. Yeah, I think that's $800 ea, but I could be wrong.

Summit has this little number for $100 you could probably make work.

Yea I've been doing some digging... Basically I only need two 3 way valves that I can just attach in between my thumb connection (T off). However the problem I'm running into is I don't want a lever sticking out as it's going to get snagged on something. I'd rather have a nut...

I don't think I even need to mount the 3 ways... my thumb connections are mounted on a plate, so it's pretty rigid if I T off there.

Why in the world the kubota one cost 800...it's such a tiny thing...

i have one of these 3 way diverter valves on my U27-4. I was considering robbing it for my new Takeuchi TB235-2, but for $200 I can get a pair of 3 ways from my local hydraulic supply house. The configuration is not the same and they have an arm to select the ports that possibly could get knocked when the arm is getting into trees or something else. I will simply make a bracket that will attach them to the excavator arm and hold the valve appropriately. If you get one with 1/2" NPT female ports, it's easy to rig the proper fittings to agree with your hoses. You should be sure that the valve is rated as high or higher than your hoses. Anything above 5000 psi should be adequate. That one from Summit looks like a good bet but the flow might not be high enough for some attachments on the L47. They make higher flow valves that are of similar design.

Check this video out:
This guy installed the same valve I just bought. However, there is one which is more straightforward and probably easier to install that is available from Bobcat p.n. 7439666 that sells for $212.20. It's specifically for an excavator or a backhoe. Since I have the M62, I only use the backhoe end occasionally due to the way Kubota plumbs flow to it. I use my excavators for digging. The arm and the stick on the M62 fight for flow and it makes for a jumpy action. They should have given them separate pumps instead of giving the swing function a separate pump. But what do I know?

The handles are usually removable.

I have a diverter on my Kubota L48 TLB 3rd function, which allows selecting either 3rd function use, or hydraulic SSQA lock/unlock.
I believe that my diverter is OEM, while the installation itself is definitely not (I am 2nd owner).
It is a big flat, push/pull (button) style selector.

Yes - they come in a variety of styles and that is a common one. The handle is still removable but it won't gain you as much as the rotary version. You can also get electric for about the same cost.

with that 'push-pull' version, be sure to add a couple drops of oil to the exposed shaft under the knob. if left out for 5-10-15 years, rust will build up and you'll have to buy another valve.....

Maybe......
My diverter lived outside for the first 13 years of it's (previous owner) life, has NO rust, and has never been a problem to me.

Update: I looked into this A LOT. I found that I can get a custom valve (similar to video above) from a shop or just piece together myself. Cost for a setup like that was more than the summit valve (also in this post), which seems more elegant so I went with that. It was about $250 for both sides of boom, but it's backordered till 1 week of march (fine with me as the tilt bucket I want is 4-5 weeks for production).

Yes I agree the L47/M62 backhoe a bit too jerky even versus the L3301 BH77 that had 1 pump for everything (it would slow down A LOT if you tried three functions at the same time). IDK if it's any better or worse than a mini-ex though...those are really bouncy, tipsy, and jerky. It seems to me they should have put an extra pump on boom, instead of swing. You don't swing and move the arm/stick at the same time. Normally you curl, move the stick, and arm at the same time, so I don't see the point for having an 'always fast swing.' Of course I say that, but realistically, when digging you're swinging a lot and the time it takes to perform the swing is a big factor in how fast you dig... it takes more time to swing and position the spoils then it does to grab them so maybe there is some reason to it. With an always fast swing, you can dump your spoils as you swing back to digging and visa versa. Either way, once you get used to it, it performs well.

To add... the L47 third function GPM is 11.5 (on loader and on backhoe). The summit 20 GPM valve is 2x that so is fine. I think the M62 is 16 GPM at the third function... both are low, but are good numbers for 'low flow' attachments... you don't need or want 60 GPM for a tilt bucket or thumb and would have to get that reduced, but of course you want a lot of hydraulic brush cutter.

The L47 overall flow is 25 GPM, but that is divided up into steering and etc.
