Hi all,

Went to start the unit to change the deck belt and it won't start. The starter doesn't click or make any noise when turning the key. I was thinking it's the PTO switch so I've tried moving the lever between the engage and disengage positions while the key is turned but still no dice. While doing that I did notice that the dash lights will dim when the PTO is disengaged and the key is turned as if it's sending power to the starter. The battery's a little low but it's still showing 12.2V. I ran it a couple of months ago without any issue. Any ideas on where to start?

Thanks,
Matt

Start by checking the battery and both ends of both cables.
Then check the charge on the battery.
If you don't have the tester for it, pull it and go to an auto parts store and have it load tested.

test/charge your battery first - then check the cables while it is charging.
12.2 is a bit low - but the available amps is what you cannot measure easily.
Cables can go "bad" even if they look good.
