I have dual wheels on my b7100 and all four (ag tires) are rotten and nasty. (I dont even think one of them holds air anymore, but with the duals it still functions:))

So I did a little surfing and wonder: what about 245/70/16 truck tires? They can be had used for less than 200 dollars for all four, studded even. I use chains in the snow anyway. The circumference is about right. Its just the width that I wonder about --b7100 comes with 8x16.

And the icing on the cake would be 4 mounted tires-- anyone have any ideas on what might be the right kind of pickup to search for so that I could directly mount them on the kubota hubs?

I've done exactly what your talking about. Except I used 15" rims off a Chevy that I modified to fit.
I don't know of any factory truck rims that will directly fit the bolt pattern, they are a bigger pattern than Chevy.
On EBay you can get new 16" rims or just use you old rims, they will let you directly mount up to the tractor.
