problem solved - the coupler to the backhoe line was bad and descending. Odd thing is it hasn’t been touched in a year or more since the last time I used the backhoe. But all is good after a new couple was installed.

This probably ranks as the #2 most frequently reported problem on the forum right behind "my tractor wont start".

Classic symptoms and classic cause. Make a note because it may show up again but in a different location.
