I was plowing all winter and my third function worked fine with my hydraulic plow. I actually came out to take the plow off and get it ready to spring and discovered the third function is totally dead now. I had the third function lockout switch fail on my pretty much the first week i owned the tractor, so i replaced that switch and it's been working fine ever since. But now it just seems totally dead.

Is there anyway to just bypass the stupid switch (which i don't even use anyway) so i could at least determine if that's the issue?

I would think it would be just a matter of jumpering it to bypass it.

I did a little reading, and discovered you can manual activate a third function valve. The little twist cap looking things on each side of the valve itself have a brass plunger in the middle of them, if you push that in with a screwdriver or something, it will activate one side of the valve. Pretty boss ass info huh? Worth the price of admission alone to this thread. I always wondered what those things were. Anyway i pushed those and the valve activated on both sides.

The weird thing is i remember there being a light on the lockout switch to the valve, and it's not lighting up anymore. So it makes me think the whole system isn't getting 12v power. From what i remember these things are wired into the accessory circuit, and i tested the actual accessory plug and that's getting power. I pulled loose the connectors for the third function harness and tested those with a light but it seems like it's not getting power at all. Guess i'll continue trying to look into it, but if anyone is more familiar with these things and you got ideas, it would be helpful.

A fuse was the culprit for me...maybe worth checking. Mine was right off the battery in a small inline holder (auto style fuse).

I installed the Kubota 3rd function on my l6060 last summer. Right out of the gate the stupid switch was bad. Did not light up, did not stay in the pushed down position. I took the switch back to the dealer who just sold me the kit and they wanted $185 for it. Obviously I raised hell about that, and got it replaced "under warranty".

I tried to test the continuity of the 4 wires to fix it before taking it back, but it was screwed so I got nowhere.

As a precaution, when I got the new one, I figured that shit switch will go out again and DID test it to get the pin out:
Red w/ Black Stripe & Yellow w/Red Stripe = Continuity connections.
Yellow = 12V.
Black = Ground.

So to bypass your switch, just connect the: Red w/ Black Stripe & Yellow w/Red Stripe and the 3rd function will be on all the time. This summer I plan on removing the switch and putting a toggle switch to the back right of my seat... I hit the damn button all the time always flicking it on.

Yeah, thanks a lot. I was goofing around with it over the weekend but got I caught up in this video game where you kill everyone with a chainsaw and I kind of dropped the project. Anyway, i looked at it again just now, and it turns out the third function is actually tied into the work light circuit, not the the accessory outlet, and that fuse was blown. Put a new fuse in and it's working again. Not sure why it blew though, so i'll have to keep an eye on it.

The switch in mine did the same exact thing like right from the factory. Didn't work from the start, but at the time i didn't really even need the switch so i wasn't that upset. Then one day i was mowing and the entire switch literally just fell apart and was hanging there by the wires. I just bought a new switch from an electric supplier and wired it in instead of paying all that money to kubota. I could have gotten it warranty repaired i'm sure, but it's a pain to get anything done through my dealer, last warranty work they did for me took 3 months and they were total jerks about it.

Anyway i might still just bypass the switch anyway because i can't stand the thing and it just causes problems, so thanks.
