B2601 adding rear remotes

I recently bought a used b2601, I'm looking to install at least 2 rear remotes, preferably 3 of them. (Top link, tilt arm and impliment) The tractor came with the land pride 3rd function on the loader. The 3rd function is routed directly from the power beyond port to the valve then back to the tank. My question is, what's the best way to add these remotes?

From some diagrams I've seen, it seems as simple as connecting the rear remotes 'pb' port to the PB port that's being used and connecting the tank port up to the 3rd function, PB or 'in' port? Is it really that simple?

Is it better to be placed after the 3rd function?


Any recommendations on spools/valves? It'd like at least one to be a float. Any advantage over switches or buttons over levers or vica versa?

I know kubota makes a 'kit' for these that use special ports near the PB ports too, but that seems to be a pretty expensive route to take

option #1 . Install 4 rear remotes, plumbed at the back, levers. From a hydraulic view, it's clean ,simple, reliable and the 4th is for future use. ALL 4 remotes are available without complicated wiring or hand motions. Maybe you can get 2 , 2 remotes and 'gang' them together ?

Fair point... was mostly curious on how/why to plumb in the remotes, some pull from the loader, some the 3rd function and some from the PB. Just seems to depend

Flow of Power Beyond Hydraulics

I have a B3200 with a power beyond port installed for a backhoe. I recently had a WR Long 3rd Function installed by my dealer. Now I’m adding (on my own) a two spool manual control valve for rear remotes. I have the piping laid out and just want to make sure there is no problem with my design...

I believe the third function can be placed before or after the FEL valve. There are subtle differences in performance between the two arrangements that I don’t recall. You can search on other @TheOldHokie threads for a wealth of hydraulic information. He is still posting but not as frequently as previously.

Go from the exit side of the current 3rd function valve. That then connects to the in port on the valves. Power beyond on the new valves connects back to where the loader 3rd function was previously connected. Run the return to tank port of the new valves to either an existing return to tank line (using a tee) or find a tank port and return directly to the tank.)

Manual valves are 99.9% of the time better for controlling top & tilt cylinders than any electric valve.
The pictured valve is a fairly clean and easy installation.
Kubota's system is very clean, but the quality of the valves is iffy at best IMO.
When you purchase valves, be sure that they are of good quality. You have to get reviews, you will not get the truth going by specs alone.

I highly recommend Bucher valves. Zero issues in over 15 years.

I feel that it is easy and comfortable to operate the levers left-right as positioned.
I have not had any complaints.
The levers are out of the way and yet easy to reach and operate.
Keep in mind that this picture is only to give an idea of how the valves would be positioned and mounted.
This tractor has a different setup for its requirements.

I have a valve inlet a similar location. It is inside the ROPS cage. It is easy to use there since you are normally turned looking back. But I am steering with my left hand and use my right hand on the valve, if the tractor is moving. If static I do use my left hand on the valve inlet.

I have noticed that I can lean over to that side and accidentally push the valve lever downward since mine are actuated in the vertical direction. My upper arm will push it down without realizing it. I may have to rearrange the position of the valve to eliminate that problem or just become more aware of the situation.

My set up with a Summit valve, plumbed after the third function as described by MntView. Valve body mounted to steel plate with plate mounted to ROPS through existing holes. Primary use is top and tilt. Has worked out great.
