replace it with an F150. Problem solved (no afm or dod crap)
For the older ones that's correct. But starting in 2021 all the F150 V8 models have it also.

25 years spinning wrenches has taught me what to buy and what to stay away from. What problems i wanna gamble on, and who will stay with me for a while.

They all break, and I love it

And yes.....its expensive.

This is also why I prefer older stuff. I've got less in this line of junk then the loader on my tractor LOL. All runners except my el camino.

I need at least 100K more out of it so I can buy a new one, if ever I should love so long...
No clue what an AFM is, but Skeets I take my hat off to you, for even thinking you may LOVE for another 100K miles! You forgot to include the word "make" by the way... :ROFLMAO:

A K&N flows more because it filters less. Using a quality OE air filter is all your car needs in a stock application.
I have seen more engine failures due to K&N (and other brands that use the same type filtration) air filters than any other engine failure in the line of work that I am in. It boggles my mind to watch folks throw away a paper element filter which the OEM uses, and put a K&N on it because "it flows more" and "it's cleanable". Sure. Just go ahead and save for that new engine while you're at it because you are GOING to need it. The failure isn't going to happen in the first 5 hours of use, so people tend to get used to the fact that it runs and runs fine. 100 hours later it's smoking and/or rattling, and they don't know why. The vast majority of the time (in the line of work I'm in), the equipment has and air filtration problem in those cases. I have done it myself on my own stuff. Live and learn. K&N's million mile warranty is also a joke. They won't stand behind their guarantee. None of them will, they ALWAYS find a way to get out of it. Went through it with a customer, K&N rep, and the customer's attorney. And K&N wasn't wrong, however the installation instructions did not specify to watch out for "that" issue during servicing.

I had a similar discussion with a buddy of mine over the K&N filters. He was a die hard fan of them.

He mentioned the "Increased Horsepower" 😂🤣😂🤣

I said yup, until you accidently dust your engine.

I'll stick with the paper drop in filters in my vehicles.

Agreed. They generally put them in there and that's where they stay.....for good....FOREVER. lol

Anytime I see that damn K&N sticker I know i'm about to see a couple year, sometimes even decade old, decrepit nasty filter.

Or it comes in on the hook with half the filter sucked into the intake.

Never put one on but looked at K&N filters a couple of times over many years.

Seems like last was for my Harley (?) when I had it.

Didn't realize they could be problematic. Doubt I'll be looking at them again.....

I don't have a chevy but I've used Pulsar Technology products in the past and they've worked fine for me.

It looks like they have an option here: https://www.rangetechnology.com/products/pulsar_lt/

First thing I did with my 2018 F150 was install an auto start/stop eliminator which works flawlessly.

I've installed throttle controllers (Pulsar) in my Ford and Ram. They're fantastic.

When I retired back in September of '21 the company I worked for sold me the Trailblazer that had been assigned to me. The plan was to replace it by Spring '22 with a Tahoe. There's a separate CD for that purpose. Two things have prevented that. Wifey wants something that will get better fuel economy and I'm not fond of the cylinder deactivation and shutting the engine off at traffic lights.

I developed an attitude of "screw it" and plan to run the Trailblazer (now with 182,000 miles on it) till it won't go.

I'm a fan of that mentality. Use up all the good on this one I know the history on, take care of, then (hopefully) when it dies it owes you nothing. Then rinse and repeat.

The '08 Trailblazer already owes me nothing. Paid $1200 for it in September 2021. Oil changes, a couple tires, and routine maintenance. Engine takes s quart of oil in 3,000 miles. Sounds like it did when new.
