Adding rear remotes with third function on B2601

I have a B2601 with a dealer-installed third function that's powered by the power beyond port. I'm interested in adding four rear remotes, and I'm curious what my options are. After doing a bunch of research, it looks like the kit I was looking at (by Summit Hydraulics) also pulls from the power beyond port. If I can somehow tee off that connection, that seems like the most straightforward, but I don't know if that will work.

The other option I've seen is to use the Land Pride rear remote kit, which looks like it attaches to the main hydraulic block through a separate hydraulic outlet (can be seen in the service manual on page 7-M18). This seems like a good option, but since the valves are right there next to the block, I don't think I'd be able to cram more than two in there, and I would ideally like to have four.

Am I missing anything? Curious to get the opinion of people who know a lot more than I do.

No tees - you daisy chain the valves. Move PB (AKA tank) on 3rd function to P on remotes. PB (AKA tank) on remotes goes to where the third function previously went. Done.

You cannot get more thsn 2 valves with the OEM optoion.

Got it, so I would probably need to replace the hoses that go to my third function valve (or lengthen the existing ones with fittings and additional hoses).

Here's my 3 remote setup with Summit valve plumbed as Dan described off the third function valve body (plus I added top and tilt cylinders). Any new lines I needed I got made locally. Super pleased with how this has been working.

I can't get a picture right now, but it's the Land Pride 3rd function, dealer installed prior to delivery (https://cdn-assets.greatplainsmfg.com/ari/attach/lp/public/manuals/380-353m.pdf). It has a hose from the PB port, and returning to the T port.

I understand what you're saying now; essentially you make a loop where the PB port leads to the third function, the return from that leads to the remotes, and the return from that goes back to the tank. That makes sense.

@matt-m: What's the second host leading to the valve block on the left side?
Good eyes!

He is using a manual valve which has both a tank and a power beyond outlet. What I described is Summit's electric valves that only have a tank outlet. AFAIK thats the only 4 valve kit Summit offers.

Yep I went manual valves for simplicity of install and for me better motion control of the cylinders. Also I did use the same return tank location as the third function (Land Pride), just added the tee you see here to bring in tank line from Summit valve body.

Now I am confused. The Landpride 3rd function has a separate tank return?

Makes sense. Thanks for all your help! I think I have a good understanding of it now.

Last thing - is there any benefit to using the "hydraulic outlet" port that the land pride top/tilt kit uses other than a cleaner install?

No. Its functionally the same but it requires sn expensive adapter, its cramped quarters, and a PITA to plumb.

I'm also interested in the answer to this. Based on looking at my tractor, and the installation manual I posted above, I'm pretty sure there are only two hoses leading to the Land Pride 3rd function valve.

Thats also whats shown on the Kubota OEM parts diagram. Not sure thats the same as Landpride. The hookup is the same as the Landpride instructuons but the plumbing parts are not the same.

The Landpride instructuons also lie. P2 is not a return to tank. It is power beyond to the 3pt.

I checked routing again so let me clarify. Not saying this is optimal but it has worked. Also dealer told me Land Pride on the third function but I haven't verified.

I start with this outlet on the tractor (the 90 deg tube fitting with hose exiting bottom of pic):

In to the power port of the manual Summit valve

Out of the power beyond on the Summit

1000004195.jpg

Over to the power port on the 3rd function

Then the tank outlets on the third function and the Summit valve are teed together at the hose connected to case drain port

That "works" but its not right. That connection is not a case drain it is the power beyond going to the 3pt.

You have the T port on the Summit valve teeded into power beyond effectively defeating the power beyond sleeve in tje Summit valve. The T port on the Summit valve is being over pressured every time you raise the 3pt or operate your top and tilt.

Ok what I was calling the case drain is where the tank line from the 3rd function was plumbed as received so I assumed it was a drain. Sounds like I need to find a proper drain location for the Summit tank drain line. Thanks Dan.

Your confudion is understandable given the bogus description in the Landpride instructions.

I was actually wondering where you ran the T line because there are not a lot of convenient places on those tractors....

BTW the Kubota guy had you put the Summit vslve ahead of thevl third function so he is probably equally confused.
