    L3800 starting issue

So Lugbolt, how did you fix yours? Replace the switch? She started better today, only needed to rock the pedal twice. This is my weekend to work so I won't have much of a chance to keep fiddling with it, but would appreciate any other suggestions. BTW I appreciate the ones already given. I...

    L3800 starting issue

I will definitely check the ground connection at the frame (already cleaned and tightened both battery terminals). I am still pretty convinced its the HST switch. The tractor started better yesterday, but still had issues. However, each time it started right up with rocking the pedal. Should...

    L3800 starting issue

I have been having starting issues with my L3800 ranging from turning the key and getting nothing but a click to the machine gun rattle of a bad solenoid or weak battery. Searching on here helped me figure out it is probably the HST neutral switch. Rocking the pedal sometimes works but not...

    Fall Foliage

On your way east from Niagara Falls you might want to check out the Finger Lakes region between Rochester and Syracuse. LOTS of small wineries with cheap tastings :D

    How far off

Amen brother! The wife and I took what will probably be one of our last rides on Wednesday. Spooked a big black bear on one of the back roads. The wife laughed when he took off after standing up, said he probably thought I was another bear at first (black leathers on and hairy face lol) but...

Distributing "playground" wood chips with tractors

A manure spreader like mbu suggests might be a good idea. If you had/want to invest in a new attachment this might be the ticket http://www.abiattachments.com/arena-drag/tr3-rake-arena-groomer/ We picked one up for maintaining the driveways on 3 properties, but also for food plot and seed bed...

    Dead trees

It seems like many of us are having tree issues. My wife inherited 180 acres after her Dad passed. When we walked it this spring with the state forester he pointed out several beech trees with beech bark disease. He said some folks are just cutting down all their beech because of it, spraying...

    Fluid in rear tires

Thanks for the clarification. I ordered a new tire gauge (air/water) that I will keep in the tractor tool box, should be here tomorrow. Will put valve stem at 12 o'clock position, blow a little air in to clear it, then check pressure. I appreciate everyone's input, have lurked the boards...

Any one have a TR3 rake?

Now that I have a decent tractor, I recently purchased a TR3 rake from ABI (http://www.abiattachments.com/arena-drag/tr3-rake-arena-groomer) to use on the driveway, maintaining pasture, doing food plots, and rehabbing some old logging roads. I watched the set up video on their website several...

    Fluid in rear tires

A couple different threads on here mentioned getting the tire off the ground first. Is that just when adding air?

    Fluid in rear tires

From what you all have said sure sounds like Rim Guard. Thanks guys.

    Fluid in rear tires

I just looked at Rim Guards website and the SDS describes it as a dark brown fluid, so that might be it. Does anyone know is rim guard "slick" like an oil based product?

    Fluid in rear tires

Yeah, bought it used with 100 hours on it. I figured I would find water with calcium chloride or antifreeze, never expected an oil like fluid, freaked me out at first.

    Fluid in rear tires

I know, another thread about fluid filled rears but this one is a little different. Went to check air pressure yesterday, yes the valve stem was at 12 o'clock, but had not jacked tractor up (didn't know about that until reading it here). Anyways, what appeared to be oil came out of the valve...

    What is/was your Profession?

When I was younger I worked on both beef and dairy farms' framed houses and landscaped for awhile; I also have driven truck at a couple different points in my life. For six or seven years I designed fire protection systems for commercial structures and haz-mat applications. When the...

Clearing snow. Kubota, quad with plow, or snow blower. Go

MikeyA - sorry it took so long to respond (I work nights). I have the R4 industrial tires, and do have a steep hill up to our upper pasture, and a short steep section down by the road. So far they have done well when moving hay and firewood except on real muddy days. When I woke up for work...

Clearing snow. Kubota, quad with plow, or snow blower. Go

We finally got about 3 inches yesterday (could see the dark clouds of the LES bands to the north). Even though the wife's lead-sled Caravan could have made it up and down the 1/4 mile drive without too much issue I figured I should clear the snow to be safe. Of course the wife said I was just...

    Trailer tips-driving, loading, and unloading

Wow, I am new to this board (just brought home my first Kubota, a L3800 w/ FEL on Monday) and already found a thread I can jump right into. I totally agree with zin01's advice, I do a 20 foot brake check every time I hook up my 2 horse bumper-pull. I actually posted on the top of my brake...
