    Question about FEL control valves

Another dumb question. I'm planning on using the FEL if the snow gets high this year. Since I don't have float capability with the valves on the tractor now, I'm looking to replace them. If I get a set with 1 float valve and 1 non-float valve, which operation should get the float? Should I put...

Straightening the cutting edge of my FEL

The cutting edge of the FEL bucket is not straight. It's bowed down in the middle. Anybody have any ideas how to straighten it? Tom

    PTO shifter fork linkage

The PTO hasn't worked since I bought this tractor. Now I want to add a snow blower and need the PTO. The PTO change lever (#40 in the picture) doesn't really engage the pin (#39) on the shifter fork(#30). From the looks of the diagram I would think that the pin/ball/spring (39/33/34) assembly...

    Power Steering conversion

Has anybody added power steering to their tractor? I'm looking at this site and was hoping somebody on here might have some experience with them. http://www.tractorpowersteering.com/ They don't list my model but the guy I've been in contact with says they can put together the correct...

    FEL Model# ??

Hello, I have an L225 with a Kubota FEL. The FEL has no data plate. It is the type that is powered by a dedicated hydraulic pump running off of the front of the engine. It has it's own fluid resovoir and filter. Does anybody know what the model number on this FEL might be? Thanks, Tom

    L 225 split apart

OK, I have my L 225 split between the trans and the flywheel housing. I've replaced the trashed reverse gear and will be replacing the clutch disk. A few questions have arisen; The end of the main shaft does not go into the pilot bushing. It has a finished appearance but will not reach and the...

    L185, Trans fluid hot

Hello, My mower deck runs off of the rear PTO and the fluid in the trans gets very hot. Is this normal? I've also noticed it foams up and the last time I used it there was fluid coming out from under the shifter boot. How worried should I be? Tom

Making 1 from 2, a question for Vic

Hi, I have an L185 and was looking for a FEL. I found an L225 w/FEL and a blown tranny. I'd like to be able to use the back half of the L185 and the front half of the L225. I really like the L185 but the extra power from the L225 would be a big advantage. I could try to fix the tranny...

    2 "new guy" questions

Hi, I have a new-to-me L185 with a Woods L59 belly mower. The mower is rigidly mounted under the tranmission at the front and hard mounted to a Woods bracket under the rear axle. It's useless like this because the blades are about 8" from the ground. I would like to get back to the proper...
