My L2501 with loaded R4 tires and an empty loader was NOT friendly to my yard at all. Turf tires would've helped, but if it had rained within the last week, the L left shallow ruts and the tires chunked up grass.
My BX weighs a few hundred pounds more than an L2502 without a loader or loaded tires, and it'll leave light marks in the grass and the R4s will only tear up grass if I spin the tires. With turf tires on, it's generally fine unless I'm making really tight turning circles.
I say all of that to say that if you're running an L2502 with no loader and unloaded turf tires, you'd probably be fine if you're on pretty flat land as that setup is pretty light. I wouldn't try it on sloped land though as the center of gravity would be pretty high.

Not an option for me. I don't want to get into multiple machines. I need a "jack of all trades" machine and I realize it may not be perfect for every task.
My L2800 is the oldest step-sister to that model, been mowing my "lawn" for 20 years with it, 72" FM. My question to you is how pristine is your yard? If the yard was sod and manicured weekly, thick grass with strips, you might not like it as much.
My "yard" was a field and since being cut enough times, looks green enough to be a yard with grass... It's good enough for me!!!
I don't worry about the yard, I don't fertilize it, no weed spraying... it grows fast enough for me without trying to make it DARK green (like my neighbors!!) If the wheels mark it up, by the next time I mow, those scuff marks are gone and it's good enough for me.

I have been mowing with a L2501 for years, had a l3200 before that, It works great for me. I don't have a golf course like lawn, so maybe that makes a difference, but I think it works well.
From what I've found a L2501 is about 600 lbs more than an LX that is marketed as a tractor to mow with a midmount mower.
There is a big difference in weight between a L2501/2 with loaded F4 tires and loader compared to the same tractor without loaded tires and without loader. The loader and bucket is over 1000 lbs and loaded tires are around 500 lbs.
A light finish mower would help compared to a heavy one. You could be looking at 2000 lbs difference between finish mower without loader/bucket and without loaded tires.

IMO tire selection and how / when machine is used make a bigger difference on the result. To be fair, it’s have a ‘low maintenance’ yard. That means the grass is healthier than most yards and the dandelions feed my bees. I don’t have any concern to drive a truck or tractor across my yard.
I have a B with loaded R4 tires (had a BX with R4s before that)…if using in 4WD it’s going to look like someone slipped with the clipper at the barber shop. Same as f using the turning brakes on a B (I don’t know if L has them or not?) if it wet enough to squish when walking I’d let it dry out before using the tractor on it. If it’s wet and sloped, that’s just playing with fire whether squishy or not.
That being said I tore up more grass with my bucket than I have with the tires. (Operator error as well)
I also have an MX (loaded tires and wheel weights) and use it primarily at our place up north which has a manicured lawn…I drive it on the lawn…same experience as with my B and BX. Ifs it’s wet it leave a a mark. The MX sighs a bit more and so long as not too wet it leaves an immediate mark but springs back up. Only time I have left wetness marks was when I should not have been playing in the yard. If trying to turn real short in 4WD or using the split brakes, it’s not going to work out. YMMM.

I'll add, I remove the loader if I am primarily going to be cutting grass for the weekend. It reduces weight (900 lbs), size (length) and I feel like I got 5 more HP!!! It's feel very zippy!!!
I cut with a L3301 and 72" rear mount for a few years. On r4s she wouldn't hurt the grass unless it had recently rained.
I cut several acres of blueberry lanes and would always take the loader off to just for clearance.

Are you going to take the loader off and on?
I would imagine that without the loader, and if it is equipped with those "turf tires" it would be fine on dry grass.
I will say that my 2501 will leave small indentations if I drive on my grass when dry, and if I turn, it will tear it up a little. However I have my loader and backhoe on 98.789% of the time and I have those R14 tires, so that's also a factor.

Everyone's land has its own characteristics. Tractors work great for me. The previous tractor, L3200 w/DIY cab had a 6' Landpride. Current L4240 has a 7-1/2' Caroni. Both with loaded rear tires. Loader and frame always removed for mowing. My little Ford 1210 w/ 5' Caroni and unfilled R1's leaves more marks. I can get on the lower yard within a couple days after flooding. The flooded and mowing pictures were taken on 9/1/21 and 9/4/21.

I take it you mean an RFM as your mower?Hi all, new to the forum.
All I can add is that initially I had 1.5 acres and bought a RFM for my B2910, and while it worked well, it did not work well for cutting CLOSE to something like a fence, or cutting around the edge of my small pond, about 80 by 50 feet or so in size. VERY difficult to cut close to something you are cutting around, unless you like mowing backwards...
With a few acres and/or nothing to mow around, an RFM shines...lots to mow around and less property, an MMM was my choice. I ended up buying a BX with MMM and a Brush Hog for my B, and with more property now I am a happy camper. Traded in the RFM and got the brush cutter plus some cash at the time. RFM had very little use and was traded back to the dealer that same year.
