After several hours of heavy use my 2018 L6060 formed a thin-layer wet spot of hydraulic fluid on the ground when parked. The drips were coming from this hex nut with a pin in it. What is this device and is the leak a sign of damage to come?
Thanks for the response and diagram. 030 is certainly the item. I will check to ensure ventilation is proper. Since I was lifting heavy objects (logs) at WOT it almost makes sense that some fluid leaked past the seals at max load. And perhaps since I temporarily parked the tractor on pavement I may have simply noticed it for the first time while it has been doing this before. Either way I will continue to monitor.I think that is a plug (#30 below) that is in the clutch area that allows moisture and oil to drain out.
The oil is probably getting there from the engine or the transmission past a seal. Clean out the transmission vent to be sure that extra pressure is not being built up in the case. I assume the engine has some crankcase ventilation that sucks the vapor into the combustion chambers but you could verify that it is connected properly.
The heavy use probably caused the oil int that area and it seems minimal to me so just clean it and monitor the area for any (excessive) amount.

No do not use any sealing products, they can do some serious damage. My l2900dt started, leaking at that plug after I hauled a lot of heavy loads. I took the plug out, and it was dry and not leaking now, thanks for letting me know what it was I couldn't find out at Kubota. If it starts again, do you think I could use some at-205 reseal for the seal, it was hydraulic fluid that came out.
Ok thanks !No do not use any sealing products, they can do some serious damage.
If it does it again you'll need to split it and replace seals.
Thanks for the info, i will check in the morning and see if it hasFor the L2900 there's a repair kit (TA040-98000) that provides a spacer that goes over the shaft to hold the seal in place. If that spacer isn't already installed it's worth giving that a try before replacing the seal.

The L6060 already has a spacer to keep the seal sleeve from moving forward. For the L2900 there's a repair kit (TA040-98000) that provides a spacer that goes over the shaft to hold the seal in place. If that spacer isn't already installed it's worth giving that a try before replacing the seal.
Yes, I was hauling heavy logs that took the tractor to its limit, and I was in 4WD so that certainly could have been it.The most common thing that leaks is the seals for the 4wd propeller shaft.
If you were really loading up the front axle, that's the most likely.
